and honestly that seemed to be the general overall consensus from most people i know... i personally know 2 families with timeshare off property that would go annually and they never had any real issues getting FP may not be the most ideal time etc but you can say the same for resort guests but they seemed to always be able to get what they wanted....

I'm just messing around. It was stupid to try and bring MaxPass to WDW unless they were going to make it a significant cost like the extra 3 for concierge stays. I think they might have gotten too much good feedback on standby lines when they only let half the people in last year, and thought that guests wouldn't pay the ransom anymore for upcharges. Boo Bashes selling out should have let them know the price had to be higher.
I think what also hurts is people stacking LL each day. My belief is Disney was hoping the majority would just book 1 at a time and not try to stack a bunch for late arrivals.
I think the "next available" is what makes that acceptable for the most part. If you want multiple rides with high demand, you'll have to use your earlier selections to ride them later. That ultimately gets you fewer rides total as you can't use any skips in the early time. They initially were letting people book a new one as soon as they used "any" previous LL, plus the 2 hour window. Thankfully they closed that loophole where you could pick a new pass and then immediately use an earlier one.
Right - but that is also connected to the increased use of the system and the 120 minute rule coming into play often ... If people could just role good rides more would - they are stacking (usually) b/c they have to
Holding 2 would be fine and it's understandable. What I am refering to is those that setup 3 or more for late in the day. It just adds to the problems with Genie+.
Would Disney really invest in developing a feature that a low percentage of people would utilize though?
Yes, because that's how much the system can handle. Ideally, they would sell it out every day at a maximum determined price and few people would be left out from purchasing it. No excess supply, no excess demand. Tall order though.
Then they should have had a cap all along.
I did this for Moonlight magic last month. Booked a cheap room at OKW, checked in online, never showed up and went to MM the day of checkout.
