Perhaps at this point, they may just be walking back the plans. We know that work has been done on the building previously, but post-covid with their aversion to hands on experiences and upclose meet and greets, I can plausibly see this becoming another temporary space as a "Festival Center", especially since it appears that the dessert party building is not coming to fruition. I would laugh if they chose to do all of this work for nothing, just as they did with the center of Future World.

The park maps currently show the former WoL pavilion as “future home of Play Pavilion” so they are definitely moving forward with it.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the experiences for Play are rethemed or gone. Main one I can see getting the boot being the Incredibles experience since Incredibles 2's release window has long gone away.

I'm not saying they aren't, but what the park map says has historically not always been the best indicator of what is coming to the parks.

It wouldn't be that hard for them to edit that portion of the graphic.

I2 got exceptional reviews and made over $1B at the Box Office and has been regularly represented in the parks in DHS and injected into The Contemporary. Disney ain't going to abandon it.

5th gate? Just build a new resort Bob.
Disney confirmed that EPCOT current projects would be complete by 2023 (12/31/23). I just assume it was the spine madness and whatever they are doing in the Festival Area/Table, but Play would be great.
It’s pretty clear they could do Play by the end of 2023 if they wanted to.

I assume we’ll get more info at D23. I imagine they retooled some IP choices with the pandemic delay.
