Not at all.

More like disassembled overnight, taken to the rear of it's platform, winched the short distance to ground level then trucked out of a roller shutter.
So when you have someone saying this:

but it appears that there is no permanent solution that does not involve a major disassembly of a portion of the ride path and the superstructure of the mountain itself.

They are wrong? Even though they claim this came from Imagineers, and other engineers familar with the mechanics of the attraction?

It won't have to go down to replace the Yeti..
I doubt they could replace it over night while the park is closed, and I don't assume they would run the attraction without it in there. So I believe the attraction would have to go down to replace/ repair the Yeti no matter the time frame. I'm in the current mindset that the Yeti will never be fixed just so I don't get my hopes up, if Disney proves me wrong great if not no use crying over spilled milk.
