Yes, but the comment I was responded to was referring to the Red Herring aspect for his characters in Frozen and Big Hero 6. That doesn't really apply to King Candy as, even though you didn't know exactly how villainous he was or his origins, viewers would still recognize him as the primary antagonist.

I'm not sure. I just hope the villain isn't yet another surprise like the last three WDAS movies. If it is the lion, I'd guess it would end up being a surprise with him being like a corrupt politician kind of character.

Or he could just be a noble lion like King Richard or Mufasa.

I changed my mind. It'll probably be the fennec fox.

Either that or it'll be like Monsters Inc. and they'll be two villains. But I think I'd like for the lion to be a good guy.

You know, since there's a Wreck-It-Ralph sequel in the works, it'd be nice if King Candy came back. As a good guy. He was really one of the most enjoyable parts of the film IMO (until he turned evil at the end). The writers of the sequel could always say that he was originally part of the game, as a background character, but Turbo took over his code and possessed him. I think the idea of him as Vanellope's father is cute. But I don't suppose any of that will actually happen. Ah well.

That would require a pretty big retcon of the first movie.
I would hope that a sequel would explore some other game world rather than toss the first movie out the window just to excuse reusing the same characters and environments we've already seen.
