Pretty sure Olaf will be there for awhile...and if he's the example of one of Disney's "latest stars" considering his film came out almost three years ago..."Celebrity Spotlight, the perfect place for a dream encounter with one of Disney’s latest stars. At opening, you are invited into the Celebrity Spotlight to meet lovable snowman Olaf, from Disney’s blockbuster film “Frozen.”
This is about the new M&G area coming to DHS, maybe Nick & Judy will come there?
I mean't in addition to Olaf, not like replacing Olaf.Pretty sure Olaf will be there for awhile...and if he's the example of one of Disney's "latest stars" considering his film came out almost three years ago...
I'm still waiting to see any video footage of them at DCA right now. Also don't think this was mentioned but they've also started their meet and greets and DCA today. wish WDW was getting a M&G
Pixar doesn't always get meet & greets the way that WDAS films often do. As for Zootopia, it could be as simple as the fact there are TWO WDAS films releasing in 2016, and the Powers That Be decided to put the budget towards Moana in November.
It would be hilarious if Moana doesn't become as big a hit as Zootopia has been so far. Like a repeat of The Lion King/Pocahontas in the mid 90s. Disney puts all their effort into marketing a princess movie and the previous movie about animals steals the spotlight.
I think you have it pegged- Disney is, once again, not recognizing how they have captured lightning in a bottle. If they think Moana is gonna be more popular than Zootopia? SMH.
Inside Out, The Good Dinosaur and Zootopia have forgone the M&Gs along with (or even before) the movie debuted.Wreck-It Ralph, Frozen, and Big Hero 6 all had meet & greets when their movies opened.
They also expected Pocahontas to be more popular than The Lion King, and look how that turned out.I think you have it pegged- Disney is, once again, not recognizing how they have captured lightning in a bottle. If they think Moana is gonna be more popular than Zootopia? SMH.

Inside Out is only just getting a proper M&G next week in Epcot.
Yeah, well, the best analogue for The Lion King right now is Frozen, in terms of cultural impact, critical reception, and commercial success. Pocahontas as a follow-up did okay, but it is regarded as one of the weakest films in the Disney canon. Now, the film following Frozen was Big Hero 6, and that did VERY well. In fact, in terms of box office, it's right behind Frozen and the Lion King.
Now, I will admit that the periods of 1985-1994 and 2005-2013 are VERY similar in terms of WDAS's output. But, once we go past those dates, the analogy breaks down.
Here's them at DCA
The Rescuers Down Under and Winnie the Pooh may not line up order-wise but are very similar; both are mostly forgotten sequels that are slightly underrated/forgotten. Plus this means that Tangled = BATB and WIR = Aladdin, so that works.vs.
- The Black Cauldron
- The Great Mouse Detective
- Oliver & Company
- The Little Mermaid
- The Rescuers Down Under
- Beauty and the Beast
- Aladdin
- The Lion King
Huh. Most of it works (Black Cauldon and Chicken Little both tried something new and failed at it; Great Mouse Detective and Robinsons are underrated; Oliver and Bolt are mostly forgotten; Princess and Mermaid both restarted the company; Lion King and Frozen are both massively successful musicals).
- Chicken Little
- Meet the Robinsons
- Bolt
- The Princess and the Frog
- Tangled
- Winnie the Pooh
- Wreck-It Ralph
- Frozen
I'm going there in a week or so, so this is GREAT news!I

I bet you Moana will be very successful. The people behind Hamilton are doing it, and that has a very huge fanbase. I also think it will do well in Japan, because that country loves the place where the movie is set, Hawaii.Well, maybe. It's a musical, it might do very well with non-white markets (the latest Fast & the Furious HUGE success is credited in part to the diverse appeal of the cast allowing it to do very well in foreign markets), and it has a neat look. I don't think it's fair to judge the movie when it's not even out yet.

So far they've just said "South Pacific", of which Hawaii is just one group of islands.I bet you Moana will be very successful.
