I remember Disney was planning on bringing Nintendo to the Disney Parks back when the film was new. They later ditched Nintendo when the film flopped though.

Disney and Nintendo kept going long after that - in fact, just prior to the whole MM+ fiasco starting, they were testing various ways of using Nintendo DS devices in the parks. They have also had a close relationship over the years with the Disney company in general, with various exclusives deals with videogames, etc.

What did in the Disney/Nintendo relationship was Amiibo. Disney courted Nintendo quite heavily to be part of Disney Infinity, and a year later Nintendo created their own "toys to life" (I hate that term, LOL) product (which was very smart on their part, for various sundry reasons).

It's probably gonna be pretty weird seeing Judy as tall as Nick. Of course, I found it a little weird seeing Ralph and Vanellope the same size too...

Good point, but what about Lilo and Stitch? That movie had squat to do with animals (aside from Stitch looking like a koala) and yet that didn't stop them from appearing at Animal Kingdom during Stitch's popularity.
I do remember Stitch had to make himself look like a dog or a bunny according to Lil if I remember correctly form the film.

Ahhh Yes Disney Magic Connection...How I remember when this was announced and beta tested...They had rental DS's similar to the WS Adventure game and guests were able to try out the new program and give their thoughts about it...Shame it didn't go through even for 3DS it would have worked pretty well...But, then MDE came and it went into the Vault of No return...

If they continued this for the 3DS, guests would get more easier access to getting streetpasses.

Just an update: Costumes are being developed by Disney for Nick and Judy right now.

Undecided if they will appear at WDW, but I have some hope that they will.
It's possible since I remember Baymax and Hiro started meeting guests at Disneyland and at WDW a few months later. Currently you can meet Baymax at Epcot or was it Hollywood Studios?

Hiro and Baymax originally met at Hollywood Studios. Baymax now meets alone at Epcot.

If they don't, first it makes zero sense to not bring the two main characters from the next big animated movie to the most popular park, and second I hope they show up in TDL.

I heard there's still some talks going on. And really, if there can be Amiibo/Skylander hybrid figures, I could see Nintendo and Disney creating Infinity/Amiibo hybrids as well.

Umm, not really sure how that's an update. That's exactly what I said in my original post. The El Capitan announcement already confirmed that they were being developed.

Not gonna happen now since they stopped development of new characters, but imagine if Wreck-It Ralph was a figure unlock in the newest Smash?
