The attendance is falling with the stock priceThis is why I can’t see plans going ahead as originally thought. They can not take a quarter of the park offline right now. The capacity issues are already dire
The Dino-Rama replacement should probably be followed with something in Pandora. It makes sense for the park and is right up Iger’s alley.
nothing else is coming so they cant wait for a completion before closing. Now is as good of a time as any. This is why I can’t see plans going ahead as originally thought. They can not take a quarter of the park offline right now. The capacity issues are already dire
Such great master planning at WDW…Kind of interesting how Moana and Nemo would be next to each other at both Epcot and AK.
Wow..Disney is in such a poor state of creativity right now. Neither of these lands fit creatively or aesthetically. It just another example the lazy, uninspired, lack of creativity we have all become uaccustomed to at Disneyworld. The sad fact is in this climate under Iger this wonderful, creative park wouldve never been built. Im so jealous of the parks overseas, turns out the Oriental Land Company does Disney better than Disney itself...dont believe me look at Tokyo Disney and Disneysea. Head and shoulders above anything we have in US. Makes no sense to me at all....Disney Parks head Josh D'Amaro shares Zootopia and Moana Blue Sky concepts for Disney's Animal Kingdom

Yeah, but does TDO see it that way?I think that’s the most effective use of money and would actually add capacity compared with today. Retheming Dino is silly.
…dude…are you new here?Possibly for shadowing an announcement at D?
They really needed a coaster as an anchor for the Pandora land...something of the size and scale of the Hagrid coaster. That would have been a great completion to the land...or even something like a Pteradon Flyers, but a longer ride for all ages...It would have the added benefit of really helping out NRJ, too -- it's one of the better rides Disney has designed/built this century, but it gets bogged down in the expectations game. The wait times are out of alignment with the experience because there are too few other attractions.
…apparently diehard Disney fans/cms on their off day/college engineering students who want to work at WDI haven’t learned much over the years eitherThey've learned absolutely nothing after their decision to replace Great Movie Ride instead of building Runaway Railway in Animation Courtyard.
So what you’re saying is…They really needed a coaster as an anchor for the Pandora land...something of the size and scale of the Hagrid coaster. That would have been a great completion to the land...or even something like a Pteradon Flyers, but a longer ride for all ages...
… Do we really need more coasters?
Shh, Donnie!… Do we really need more coasters?
Yes…cause “amusement parks”… Do we really need more coasters?
See aboveespecially at DAK which is dying for more inside and sedate family style rides. Really needs something like Mystic Manor.
The only Disney park where I think you could argue for another roller coaster at this point would be Epcot getting something like a Mt. Fuji coaster in Japan but really the parks have gone heavy enough for thrills in recent years and need to recalibrate for the types of rides that got them to the top.
When I went on the ride on the 8th, I was pleasantly surprised to see that most everything was working. Great change from the state I rode it around Christmas.Just seen Chris Beatty and a gaggle of Imagineer type people leaving Chester and Hester. Unfortunately they were just walking out under the cementosaurus towards the ex Rivers of Light arena (which Chris did a general hand wave towards) before heading towards Asia.

On a separate note for those who don’t visit the Dinosaur thread all of the animatronics are now working/have been fixed in the last week or so even the ones that haven’t worked for months. So make of that what you will.
That’s really great to hear, partially because caring for rides is this not completely ignored. But partially could this mean Dinosaur (and Dinoland USA overall) be spared? They really let Splash fall apart before closing so maybe they’ve decided to at least delay axing Dinosaur for Zootopia? When I went on the ride on the 8th, I was pleasantly surprised to see that most everything was working. Great change from the state I rode it around Christmas.
