You've been waiting under the menu for 10 mins, could you not have decided then?

I started a thread about this a while back and I often wondered what the 'table etiquette' was myself. Apparently it's ok to have party members reserve a table once you enter the building whilst others queue for food. I was told Disney stop people doing this when the restaurant is full and at that point you must first get your food? I have however been in Cosmic Rays and when we've got our food had nowhere to sit and eat it whilst others sat at tables waiting for their parties to get food who came in after us which I personally felt was unfair.
As usual, the reason that it is no longer allowed is because mankind has absolutely no concern about their fellow space travelers. Many, many, many were coming in and staking out a table only to have someone bring in a home grown lunch or have a drink of free water or make a condiment salad. In the meantime, people that paid a kings ransom for a lunch had no place to sit. So, as is usually the case, we need only to look at ourselves to find the answer to most of our problem and restrictions.

And they're usually doing that to save a table! Tables are for people who already have their food, ya jerks!

Oh gosh...I"m one of those people!! LOL! I never knew it wasn't acceptable to have someone in your party hold a table while you get the food. I figure if I'm in line buying food, I've committed to eating there, so shouldn't I be able to save a table (ha, that rhymes) so I have a place to sit and eat it once I get through the line?

When DS was about 12 and was annoyed at me and DH about something-er-other, we told him to decide what he wanted before we got to the front of a fast food line, but when we got there, as a control mechanism, he acted like he couldn't decide and needed more time. We told him he had 20 seconds to tell us what he wanted or he was getting nothing. He apparently didn't believe us and tried to delay us more. He got nothing. It was the last time he pulled that routine.

I like the person who is there ordering for 8 people and doesn't know what any of them want. So they have to keep sending one of the kids back and forth to the table where everyone else is sitting to find out.

Yeah and there probably wouldn't be a problem at all if people KNEW WHAT THEY WANTED TO ORDER BY THE TIME THEY GOT TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE! :banghead: :D

AND then once they figure out what they want to order they ask if X can be substituted for Y and can they get this instead of that and ask why doesnt this feature come with that. This isnt pick and choose, swap one for the other, order from each column... its printed clearly on the menu what you get.

Well this certainly was a fun read tonight! Thank for many laughs.

I have been there during busy and non busy times. I have seen them close off rooms that u couldn't enter without food. We were lucky once because we sat our son down and went to get food then they decided to close rooms they asked people without food to leave. They left him alone probably because he was a minor and figured we would never find him if he moved.

I see their point during busy times. That was in 2012 and first time we saw them do it. But typically we try to eat at slower off times.

That's some of the problem. The other part of the problem is that there needs to be more seating available. There is not enough seating in any of the quick service restaurants, and this has been the case for many years. I only eat meals now during off-peak times, so that I get a better chance at finding an available table.

I am going to allow myself one negative statement today, but, they have a huge eating area just to the right of MSUSA. Open the "blank" thing and stop trying to cram 4000 people in a space that can only hold 200. It sometimes never fails to amaze me how a company that size can be so penny wise and pound foolish. Cut Iger's annual bonus by one tenth of 1% and use it to operate that space. No business should have ANY closed buildings for whatever reason especially when it is a revenue producing area. Quick Service places at WDW have a markup that would make Trump blush, open it!

We're talking the Noodle Station here aren't we? Always shut when we go there and I've always wondered why. No disrespect meant towards the fast service restaurant staff at Disney, but I'm pretty sure they're not on 'big money' for their duties. I can't imagine opening up that place and running it would cost Disney more money than they'd make from it surely? I realise the placing of it might make it less popular than some of the others but I'd put my hat on it being busy enough to make an overall profit as you too speculate. Always seemed sad and a bit odd to me that.

It's been, literally, years since I've seen it open. They might have their reasons, but, they have no acceptable excuses. I know if I had to choose between Pinocchio's ptomaine palace and the Noodle Station I'd go there. I do wonder if it does cause a "bird" problem with all that food around and idiots who think it's cool to feed one of those killer seagulls.

Same here. I've been going to Disney for 40 years now and the last 11 years have been with my wife. Last week when there with her and passing through that area I asked her if she could remember it ever being open when we've been and she said that she couldn't. Now I'm not a 100% on how correct we are on that, but it's a long time if true.

The last time I remember seeing it open was in the late 90's. Consider that I usually only go off season and that might be the prime reason why I never see it open, but, I have over the years gone there almost every season except mid summer and it has never been operating when I was there.

I would also like to say that if you do not know what you want, stand out of the way and look at the menu and figure it out, THEN get in line. Thank you

THIS 1,000x. There are many times I'm not sure what I want if I'm unfamiliar with the menu: I ALWAYS step aside and let others behind me know I'm still deciding and to please go ahead. To keep a long line of hungry, tired people waiting and make the lines even longer than they need to be is so rude. But I believe some of these people aren't intentionally trying to be rude...they are just oblivious to who and what's around them...no common sense.

By the way, John Pinette, the late (GREAT) comedian does a hysterical bit on this with indecisive people in buffet lines - "GET OUT OF THE LINE!". Check it out on YouTube or netflix,

We were just there last 2 weeks of August. First week was rated higher crowds and no noodle station. I've always wondered about this too. When we were there for very merry Christmas party 2007 it is where we got hot chocolate and cookies.
