Hi Everyone. For all you lucky people that have stayed in deluxe resorts,am curious about the size of the balconies, for example, can the WL accommodate three people sitting in the balcony.? I dream about the WL for my next visit and would love to sit outside at 6.30am sipping my coffee.:)

You should be able to, however I believe there are only two chairs on the balconies.
I am always up early and go for a walk while waiting for the family to shower, shave and shine so when staying at the the Wilderness Lodge or Contemporary I love to walk down to Bay Lake and watch the sun come up. I have also had some wonderful early morning conversations with cast members.
Hatter you will love the Wilderness Lodge the lobby "blows me away" evertime we check-in and we have stayed there several times.

Out of all of the balconies, my favorite is @ AKL. I love getting up in the morning and having a cup of coffe as the family gets showered and moving and on the flip side having my evening cocktail while sitting and watching the animals roam around. To me it is so peaceful sitting there quitly watching the animals wandering around. My second favorite is BLT and having a view of MK. We have on 2 occasions had a Lake View room and had great views of MK. This is great in the early evening watching all of the lights in Tomorrowland and then Wishes. The view is skewed, but the music is piped in through the TV so turn up the volume, grab you evening beverage, pull up a chair and relax to your own personal view of WISHES!

The last time we stayed @ WLV out room was at the end of the hall right above the dumpster and it was horrible. If the dumpster wasn't bad enough we had a smoker in the room next to us and they smoked non-stop outside on their balcony and we could not enjoy sitting outside at all. Unfortunately they had no other accomodations to move us into and did not do anything about the smoker next to us.

With DVC we have become used to having access to balconies and have been spoiled. Thinking about my favorite things when vacationing at WDW are first, spending time in the parks themselves, then eating until I am about to burst and third on the list would be sitting on the balcony with that evening cocktail with the family talking abotu all of the fun we had and planning out assault for tomorrow.

Standard rooms have 2 chairs and you can always use the chair from the desk. The large suites I believe have 4 chairs and are much larger. If you are going to go Deluxe, look into renting DVC points and you will probably save money on your stay.

Sitting on the balcony at WL is a perfect way to start the day. I asked the maids for more coffee, so I could have more than two cups each morning, they were happy to help me out. We stayed at WL on another trip and had a second floor room that didn't have a balcony, only a garden area, I really missed my balcony.

Hatter, you need to butter up that relative of yours. ;)

My DH won't stay anywhere but the WL at WDW. The moment you pull into the drive you begin to see the topiaries, then the totem arch, the gatehouse, and finally the lodge itself. I'd love to see the look on your faces the first time you see it. I remember the first time we walked thru the front doors of the lodge....we stopped dead in our tracks and just stood there and looked up. It really is breathtaking and amazing. You all will LOVE it! I can't wait for you to stay there and I can't wait to hear about your stay. Hatter, I just don't think I can wait until 2014 to hear about it so you'll just have to find a way to get there sooner....ha ha.

The balconies have 2 chairs and comfortably hold 2 people. Usually I sit out there in the morning with my coffee while my DH or niece is getting ready or I'll be out there in the evening with a pre-dinner beverage, once again waiting for the others to get ready. The balconies are private and nicely sized.

I love WL too, a favorite of mine. But that sentence gave me Deja Vu. Do we share the same DH? lol

I wanted to try more resorts, so I started saying sorry, booked so we are stay (x)here. That is what happens when I'm given the job of booking our family trips. lol.

We had 4 out on AK balcony, 2 kids sitting of concrete and 2 adults in chairs.

AKL will accomodate 3 people, but there are only 2 chairs,,,,,our next door neighbors asked for (and received) a 3rd chair, however,,,,

it was cool sitting on that balcony drinking coffee at 6 or 7 am seeing giraffes come so close!

It will work :). Grab the chair adjacent to the writing desk & take it out on the balcony... bingo, seating for three :). You are going to LOVE the Lodge - it's the only place Sandy & I will stay (so much so that we just bought into the DVC Villa's at WL).
Cheers for that.Roll on July 2014.;)

Our greatest balcony, GF. A view of the monorail everyday, the castle, ground floor, electric parade, it is the best! To have coffee on the balcony in the morning with the monorail traveling by, boats across the water, and a view of the castle, never forget it!

Sitting on the balcony sipping coffee, hearing the resort wake up is my most favorite thing to do. I'm a very early riser so I usually have quite a bit of time before the others even get up. GF is our favorite but WL runs a very close 2nd.

Ok,Thats it,Spill the beans. What are you hearing when the resort wakes up?;) I was standing on the bridge overlooking Sassagoula river this year at approx 6.30am as the sun was beginning to rise with my cup of coffee, but all I heard was a jogger running past me. :(

OMG it's wonderful depends which balcony, sometimes near the monorail you hear it whoosh by, or when we were at Conch Key we could hear the wolf howl from the haunted mansion. Othertimes it was just the workers cleaning up or ducks quacking. Outside Gasperilla Grill (I'm talking like 5am) since were were there in late October you could hear the music from the MK where they were having Christmas rehearsals. Sometimes it was just quiet, blissfully quiet.

I totally agree! There were four of us in the room and we were all able to be on the balcony. We were right on the Seven Seas Lagoon, saw the castle, MK Fireworks and Electrical Light parade...it is the best! To see the castle first thing when you wake up and the last thing before you go to sleep is Magical and I will never forget it! So glad I was able to experience with my mom as well!
