Hello Dining Experts. I will be going to the World in late Jan/early Feb, staying @ AKL. I have made all my ADR's. There are two that I have never eaten at, wanted to try something new.
1) Via Napoli-dining Solo that night. What do you think of the restaurant? Will I be comfortable going Solo, and what pizza or other dishes are your favorites?
2) Kouzzina's-for Breakfast. What do you think? Also your favorite breakfast dishes here?
My other ADR's Breakfast-GFC, Boma, Captains Grille, Kona
My other ADR's Dinner- Sanaa, Artist Point, Captains Grille, Boma, Jiko,Rose & Crown

Your opinions and favorite dishes at these places are also welcome!!! Thanks for all your feedback in advance!!!!!!!!!

In my opinion, eating alone in a restaurant is awkward no matter where I am... here at home, or down in Florida.

If I went alone, I'd have to avoid table service meals. That's just my two cents though.

Via Napoli, while expensive (but it's WDW, what do you expect) is rather delicious.

Via Napoli was my favorite this past trip. While not the most expensive, quality food I ate, it was certainly tasty. I had the veggie pizza and it was so very flavorful. And those little donut holes for dessert served with chocolate and whip cream on the side in gravy boats, to die for. Those little puppies just melted in my mouth.

I think you would be comfy on your own there, or as much as any table service. Also when in the lobby you can peek into the dining room and see if anyone is seated at the community, long table. It is a shared table so if they are using it that day that would be perfect.

Kouzzina, not my favorite. IMO that place could disappear and I would not be sad.

I loved Kouzzina, though I did not have breakfast there. I find dining alone works out fine. I travel a lot for business and I'm just used to it. IMO, if you're fidgety, look at your smartphone or bring a newspaper (quarter folded please)or magazine. I've actually come to enjoy eating alone in restaurants though in the beginning for me it was a little awkward.

I've eaten solo at Via Napoli a few times. Didn't bother me in the least bit. The pizza is so good, I could eat there naked and it wouldn't bother me (though might make a few other diner uncomfortable.)

Your ADR list looks great however I would switch your Kouzzina breakfast for Whispering Canyon Cafe breakfast. I don't know if you would consider a character breakfast but we are big fans of Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's and Ohana.

Personally, if I'm alone, I prefer to sit at a table by myself with a good book or at the bar where I can chat with the bartender or other solos. I would specifically ask not to be seated at the long table in Via Napoli because I wouldn't want to be by myself and surrounded by other parties. I don't have any food advice for you. With the exception of Catal and the UVA Bar, I don't really care for any of the Patina Group's restaurants.

As for breakfast at Kouzzina, you can't go wrong. I especially like the Stacked Kouzzina Breakfast, the French toast, and the flatbread. They also make my favorite Bloody Mary on property.

I agree with the others, kouzzina for breakfast is a great choice. Always a must do for our family. Try the sweet potato hash, so good!

Enjoy your trip!

DH and I had Via Napoli last Tuesday and it was delicious! I had the quattro formaggi pizza, all cheese and it was great! DH had the picante pizza, sausage and red peppers and he loved it as well. But hands down the best part of the meal was the "ugly but good" sundae. It's vanilla gelato with a couple italian cookies and this amazing amarena cherry sauce. I do not like cherries but WOW! I had ordered the Zepoli dessert and while it was good, DH ended up sharing his sundae with me lol.:p The atmosphere is casual enough to dine solo and they have small tables for 2 along the windows that should suit you just fine. The staff was very attentive but not overbearing and my beverage never got below half full. I hope you enjoy your visit and do yourself a favor and order that sundae!

Boma is outstanding, never had breakfast there but the dinner wonderful. Rose and Crown had the best service of the whole resort, absolutely great.

We tried Via Napoli for the first time a few weeks ago and LOVED it! We'll be back! Great food & service.

I think it would be fine dining alone. Perhaps bring a book, or if you have a phone, itouch, etc. that can help occupy a little time? It's not the same as eating alone in a full service restaurant, but I had a small table to myself at La Cava del Tequila for chips and a drink. I was able to get a wifi signal, so I got caught up with email, etc. which there. It was a nice break from the crowds and heat.
