Did I spell "recommendations" right?

Anyway, I stumbled across a really good cover of Pure Imagination (from Willy Wonka) by Maroon 5, and also, The Rainbow Connection (Kermit the Frog) by Sarah McLachlan(sp?).

Anyway, I think one of the best cover albums is the I Am Sam soundtrack, with all the Beatle's song covers.

Do you have any favorite cover songs to recommend?

I love my wdwmagic general chat wealth of knowledge... (you guys).

"Boys of Summer" covered by The Ataris on their album So Long, Astoria.

that is a good song!

i think i'm thinking more along the lines of what they don't play on the radio... kind of those that you just stumble across...
good song though!

NSync's cover of "More Than A Feeling" by Boston is awesome (believe it or not), as is their cover of "Sailing" (which I believe is a cover...?)

Rockapella also does many incredible covers including "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" (though, I don't believe that one's recorded yet), "Up On The Roof", "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", "Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress" (one of my faves), "Tempted" (another one of my faves), "Dock of the Bay", and "Use Me" (definately another one of my faves).

A cover of Christopher Cross. Also good song off his debut album was "Ride Like the Wind."

Sailing - Christopher Cross, 1980.

Well, it's not far down to paradise, at least it's not for me
And if the wind is right you can sail away and find tranquility
Oh, the canvas can do miracles, just you wait and see
Believe me

It's not far to never-never land, no reason to pretend
And if the wind is right you can find the joy of innocence again
Oh, the canvas can do miracles, just you wait and see
Believe me

CHORUS:
Sailing takes me away to where I've always heard it could be
Just a dream and the wind to carry me
And soon I will be free

Fantasy, it gets the best of me
When I'm sailing
All caught up in the reverie, every word is a symphony
Won't you believe me?

CHORUS

Well it's not far back to sanity, at least it's not for me
And if the wind is right you can sail away and find serenity
Oh, the canvas can do miracles, just you wait and see
Believe me

CHORUS

I like a band called Deadstar Assembly. They are an up and coming band which some of you may have heard of. They did a cover of "Send Me An Angel" (don't remember the original artist) that I really like.

If you want to hear the song and see the video then just click the link in my signature.

Another Me First and the Gimmies.. vote. My roommate listened to them frosh year and they made me laugh b/c the songs were so classic, yet so fast and loud and funny.

Esp. "Over the Rainbow" from Oz.
