Your first Disney running event was?

Whether it was runDisney or the Disney Endurance Series, what was your first race run at the Disney Parks? Do you remember the year?


My first race was the 2007 Inaugural Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 13K. It marked the Tower’s iconic 13th birthday and I’ve been hooked ever since.

2010 Halloween 5K, TTC to MK and back. Ran it way too fast. Should have slowed down and enjoyed it more.

2008 Go Red for Women 5K - I think that event sorta morphed into Princess Weekend. Thought “hey, I walk at least 3 miles when I’m at the parks, I can do a 5K...” and got completely hooked.

Lows those 3 days will be upper 60s, highs in the mid 80s.

Same for me, inaugural Half Marathon weekend. Although the marathon weekend of 2018 was booked earlier, the experience in Paris was my first and got me seriously hooked.

I ran Disney since 2007 but I did not work up the courage for a half marathon until 2011’s Wine&Dine. Prior to that were the trio of Tower13Ks and an Everest!

2015 Wine & Dine Half Marathon (or not really!) - last nighttime race...being corralled like cattle into the Field House due to lightning...stepping off at around midnight...hitting the after party at 2 am...good times!
