Boy, this is going to be long and may not make much sense. I feel that with such gains in attendance as of lately, there needs to be more new attractions. I completely agree with all of the current refurbishments on the schedule. They needed to be done. I feel that the new proposed additions to US will give WDW a run for it's money. Hopefully there will be a positive response with new attractions. I feel WDW has changed immensely since I began going yearly in 1999. I know, change is inevitable, but I feel it has been tamed down, beginning with the end of AE. It seems as though there are too many attractions based on CG movies. Nemo, as good a movie it was, is overdone. I will see about MILF when I go next month. I know in order to cultivate return visits to WDW, you must start to please guests when they are young, but it seems it is being taken overboard. I really hope things get back on track and the crazy fans like us get some really cool new things in the near future. ETA- I also feel wayyyy too much money is being spent on new resorts when Pop is not complete. The whole 4 seasons addition makes no sense to me, and the CR Villa building looks like it is going to be horrendous in the concept art. I may be wrong once it is up, and I will state if my feelings change once built. Money is being allocated for the wrong things.

I'm feeling a lot of negative vibes; I don't know about the rest of you but I don't think I've ever really been disappointed, in all my trips/vacations, and I've been going quite regularly (at least twice a year) for about ten years now.

Do these type questions (threads) just bring out the people looking for an arguement. The Disney complex is just what it's called, complex, you can't make everybody happy about everything everytime. Back chair quarterbacks with 20/20 hindsight do little to convince me that Disney is dropping the ball. They do so much 'right', that being so critical, just doesn't seem appropriate.

looking at the results (so far), I would say most people are pleased with the company.

I think Iger has the company as a whole moving in the right direction. I also think the parks are being invested in (lots of refurbs and small additions); however, I feel like if something is not done soon, the Disney-MGM Studios will continue to slide down in quality and attendance. I understand that it's hard to keep up with 6 parks and many hotels, but it wouldn't be so bad if they were doing a little bit here and there all along (not Iger's fault). It's just going to take a while to fix.

I think this should be in a different area. It has VERY little to do with WDW Parks General Discussion.

I remember this from last year or the year before:

Anyway, I think if Walt was alive there would be no Pixar to purchase. He would have invented CGI tech or something better.

I feel internet-based rumors/spoilers hurts fans in some ways because it takes away the thrill of discovering new things when you enter the parks.

My Stock in Disney is doing well so I can't complain there. I also enjoy the new attractions

I'm not happy about the decision to perform gay commitment ceremonies. And I'm not happy about the increasing invasion of characters into World Showcase. So on those two issues, I think the company is moving in the wrong direction.

No matter what, gay commitments aren't gonna just go away, so they may as well make money off of it.

We're considering the 3 Cabs a "character invasion"? I call it freshening up an outdated attraction and exposing more people to Mexico.

I think that the company is headed in the right direction for fans. While there are some things that happen that I do not like, overall things are on the positive side. I know I have complained about some things at WDW but the fact remains that while I am on vacation, I really did not notice that burned out lightbulb or the broken aracade game. And even if I did - who cares, we've got to get over to Splash Mt. before our FP expire!

I also voted for:

I tend to believe most, if not all, internet-based rumors - Why wouldn't I, they are all true.

I realize that the Gay issue willnot go away. However, I feel it is wrong for Disney to support something in it's parks when Walt intended them to be "Family Oriented". Regardless of what anyone says, same ______ partnerships with kids does not make a family. It is not natural. With that said, everyone should know that I am not against gays. I happen to have Gay friends & I respect their choices in life. I just think that Disney should not glorify what they stand for by having Special Celebrations for them. Bash me if you like, but it is an OPINION that I stand firm on.

A family does not always mean a mom, dad, and children. A family is love. It doesn't matter if there are 2 moms, 2 dads. As long as there is love, it's a family.
This is just my opinion.

Those are your opnion. However you really can't speak for Walt and the direction he would take WDC. Family is where you heart is, it's not gender or race bias. I think Walt would embrace the changes for WDC. When Disneyland was opened, mostly one race attended the parks. Look how that has changed for the better, there is something to say about the many colors of a rainbow.

There are two opnions but let's not turn this thread into something ugly and getting the thread closed.
