In the days (or hours) before leaving home for WDW, what planning/preparation activities give you that feeling of excited anticipation?

I do not know about anyone else but when I pay for the down payment for my next trip is the best feeling anyone could ask for.

Just picking up the phone and making the reservations does it for me!

Heck, just checking SW Ding fares for possibilities makes my heart race!

We live in Middle Tennessee so we usually leave around 2am or 3am so we can make it to the resort hotel by check in at 3pm and then head to DTD for the night. I love that feeling of scrambling the night before to get everything packed into the car and loaded so we can go to bed early. It sounds sort of lame, but to me there is no greater feeling than packing your car for WDW. I also love "shopping" for the trip the night before. We usually bring snacks to keep in the room, and it seems to make grocery shopping a little more fun knowing you are shopping for things for WDW. Something that use to make the trip more exciting before we got there were those billboards that use to be on I-75 that asked a Disney Trivia question and I believe it gave the answer on the next billboard you passed. There use to be tons of them as you got closer to Ocala and Orlando, but on our last trip in May they were gone:( Maybe they were ads for the Ocala Disney Info Center that closed down:veryconfu

Packing the night before gets me excited.
There's something about putting our little personal fans, our resort mugs, the suncreen, the Disney T shirts, and our Pal Mickey in the suitcase that screams "WE'RE GOING TO DISNY WORLD!":sohappy:

Top 2 pre-trip things to do.

1. Telling the Kids... we're going to DISNEY WORLD

2. Making that final payment on my trip and knowing it's all paid for before I get there and all I have to do is show up and have fun fun fun.

it is tradition that me and my friend pack two months ahead of time and then when we think of things we add them as needed

it makes the waiting time seem much shorter

Last Christmas we watched the Food Network special about WDW and the gingerbread houses and decided to do our own. It was a lot of fun and very neat looking for a 2, 6 & 8 year old.

This concerns the trip down rather than the time before leaving. The summer after our highschool graduation we took a roadtrip down to Disney. We decided to listen to nothing but Disney songs on the way there. For the first two hours it was great and we couldn't have been more psyched for Disney but on a 20+ hour roadtrip it can get alittle tiresome. I suggest avoiding this idea until within a couple hours of Disney World.

After I've made my final payment, and before I start packing, somewhere in there it hits me that I am actually going. It is the best feeling in the world, and I feel like I'm 8 years old all over again.

I start packing about two weeks before we leave, which will be the week before school starts this year. As soon as I pull those suitcases out, I get unbelievably excited!:sohappy: Honestly, I think I get more excited than the kids. Gosh, the night before we leave, I have trouble sleeping, I'm up WAY before the alarm goes off, and I'm pretty much living on adrenaline the entire trip. Also, I try to fill goody bags for the kids for the flight down and that always gets me even more excited, as well! Can't wait!! 47 more days!!!!:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

My favorite pre-trip activities include washing the family van, packing the luggage into the car, and cleaning up around the house. I don't mind any of the activities because I know the next day I will leave for Disney!!!
