Your favorite non-signature WDW restaurant?

Teppan Edo, Raglan Road and Kona are among the places I've been to and consider some of the best! I have a feeling I might be naming Via Napoli as my favorite non-signature restaurant after our trip... I'll be eating there for the first time and the reviews on this place are great!

Sorry, I'm now to be forums. What is the difference in a Signature and Non-Signature restaurant?

Hello and welcome to the forum! :)

I don't know if Disney gives a technical definition for what a 'signature restaurant' is, but WDW does create this classification which it uses for its top-notch restaurants, which I assume it considers to be fine dining and the best of the restaurants on property. These also tend to be the most expensive restaurants on property.

You can find a list of WDW signature restaurants here:
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/d...rtBy=nG:hasDiningExperienceFacet&fv_222814=on

The other classification for "Signature" restaurants is this - if you are using one of the Disney Dining Plans during your trip, "Signature" restaurants require 2 table service credits versus just one. And some Signature restaurant do not accept the dining plan at all (including the restaurants at the Swan and the Dolphin, Citiricos' Chef's Domain - as opposed to the ret of the restaurant - and Victoria & Albert's).

Sad to hear this about Garden Grill. I've never been there before and have an ADR for it for an upcoming trip in September. I cancelled the ADR when I heard it stopped rotating and then re-made the ADR when I heard it was rotating again, and now just having mixed feelings about the place in general based on reviews and comments I've heard and read.

I'm not going in with too high of expectations for the food, but was looking forward to the scenes from The Land attraction during the meal (which is why the rotating was a big issue for me).
We finally tried the Garden Grill this last trip and it is the one restaurant from that trip that we won't go back to. I liked their vegetarian option and the rolls with honey butter. However the rest of the people in my party had the traditional menu and were not impressed. Hopefully you have a better experience.

These are my favorites from my long ago visits as a kid:

Sci-Fi Dine In Theater
'50s Prime Time Cafe
Village Haus
Rainforest Cafe
Planet Hollywood

If you can't tell I'm very into theme.

Looking forward to revisiting those places and finding some new favorites this year! 15 years is way too long to be away from WDW.

As someone who's gap between trips was about the same length (before '12, my last trip was so long ago that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were still advertised as characters you could meet), let me assure you that there's a ton of great new stuff waiting for ya!

Sanaa hands down for me. My wife might disagree, but I love Sanaa! I imagine she'd say 50's Prime Time. My son would probably say Tusker House Breakfast. :D

I'm surprised by the love for Sanaa - I thought it was supposed to be a "hidden" gem. It's one of our favorites as well. I just wish transportation to/from it wasn't so hard!

We've had no "bad" meals on property and have enjoyed nearly all the restaurants for one reason or another, but Via Napoli is probably up at the top of my list.
