Your best and worse restaurant in HS.

So what is your favourite TS and QS,and what ones would you avoid.My choices are TS would be 50 Prime times and Backlot Express,my worse ABC.:wave:

We are not QS folks so I can only talk about TS...worst would have to be Hollywood and Vine and best for us would be Mama Melrose. And we would not be upset to see some new and better TS options added to HS!!! Food choices are very limited in this park.

Worst QS we had was pizza plant...yuck! We always eat at starring rolls, their sandwiches are really good and of course one of those cupcakes or the fruit tart speak for themselves!

TS We've only eaten at Sci-Fi, 50's, and Momma Melrose. We liked them all. Momma Melrose was really good! 50's does really good fried chicken, and Sci-Fi is what it is. We've only ordered the burger and it's really good!

Worst CS = ABC Commissary. The food was cold and just not good.

Best CS = Fairfax Fare. The food was good. Turkey leg and pulled pork sandwich.

Best TS = Mama Melrose. The food was basic good Italian. And the restaurant was crowded but the service was still good.

Worst TS = Sci Fi. The food was bad. Even the root beer was bad - yes their bag mix must have been low because it was like soda water. And when we told them...they said "no it's fine" (talking about the drink dispenser) and brought me another glass - of soda watery root beer. Just a great atmosphere - but thats all.


Best CS snack joint = Starring Rolls. Cupcakes and pastries are to DIE for!

Only have had TS once at HS... Hollywood Brown Derby. The verdict: food is pretty decent, but is very expensive for what you get... but it is Disney so what do you expect, price inflation will be the norm everywhere. I'd skip it next time though.

It's crazy, but we have yet to have a horrible meal in DHS. We've eaten CS meals and snacks at Backlot Express and Starring Rolls. We've had a really good breakfast at Hollywood & Vine, great lunch at 50s Primetime, and very good dinners at Mama Melrose and Hollywood Brown Derby.

last time i was in HS i checked out the burrito hot dog at fairfax fare. it was pretty awesome in a weird way.

Worst: ABC Commissary by far!

TS- We've always eaten at Mama Melrose. On our last visit (July 2011), it was just okay, so we will be trying something different when we go back.

FRESH pop corn is the only thing worth eating at HS anymore. I leave early for decent food at Epcot.

Worst: ABC Commissary. Depressing-looking and bad food.

Best: Brown Derby. Probably one of the best signature restaurants on property if you hit it on a good night.

Back in the 90s I used to love the Commissary...now it's just awful. Simply awful.

My favorite TS in DHS is pretty much based on the experience and ambience alone, and that's 50s and SciFi. The food is average (by "real life" and Disney standards). But the experiences are so much fun (stay away from the red velvet cake at SciFi though. I couldn't even eat a bite, it was so gross).

The fruit cart and Starring Rolls are my favorite QS options. I actually like the pizza at Pizza Planet, for what it is, but it's annoying and difficult to find seating there. Plus, they changed the side salad and it's now basically lettuce (plus no Ken's dressing packets anymore).

DHS has the worst food - I can't think of a good place to sit down. We have eaten at Mama's and Prime Time and both were awful. I mean really not good food. The atmosphere and service were great at Prime Time and fine at Mama's. We did Mama's for Fantasmic Package and it just wasn't worth it. Starring Rolls has good food and we did eat at Rosie's or Catalina's and it was OK. We were really hungry so anything would have been fine... I wouldn't plan any ADR's at DHS.

Best: TS- Sci-Fi Diner, although i wasn't as big of a fan last trip. I am excited about the menu changes, I think it needed it. Love the atmosphere, and most of my visits here have been great.
QS - Backlot Express

Worst: Pizza Planet. It just wasn't good - frozen pizza was thawed out & soggy. I felt like it was dirty there too.
