You make the cut - Fireworks vs Parades!

This is just a hypothetical, but suppose you had to choose, say for the generic budget cuts reason, to discontinue parades or fireworks at Magic Kingdom, which would it be?

Why?

As a side note, here is an LA Times article about locals complaining about Disneyland Fireworks. The simple solution is of course don't live next to Disneyland. As ruffled as some may get, the two in the article have lived there for a few decades.

I would say Parades reluctantly. Seeing this is hypothetical I would try to save the "traditional" MK 3:00 parade and the MK night parades, but scrap all other parks plus "extra" parades like Move It Shake It Celebrate It. I actually like this parade, but if it means saving the traditional parade time, it's gone.

As for your side note, yeah the homeowners have been there for three decades, but Disneyland was there decades before that. If they don't like them, they shouldn't have moved there. They must have known about it when they moved in.

Parades....snoozefests for me, sorry. Maybe if they updated them more than every few decades I wouldn't feel that way

Parades! I love the fireworks, can't miss them!!!

I skip the parades all the time... although I do enjoy the one at DHS (BPB is full of energy)!

KEEP the fireworks. Ive never even stood there long enough to watch the whole 3 oclock parade...and I was stuck an had to watch the AK parade and wanted to pull my face off.

Wishes, and Illuminations are amazing EVERYTIME.

Combine the parade and fireworks shows into one. Make the parade floats into mobile launch vehicles. What could go wrong?

Scrap the fireworks and keep the parades.
After seeing the Macy's 4th of July fireworks in NYC the first time about 10 years ago... WDW fireworks are pretty lame(IMO). We do watch them during some visits but if we don't see them really no big deal. Don't get me wrong, they are great compared to other theme parks fireworks(if any others even still do fireworks shows) but after seeing what I saw back then and twice since, it doesn't really compare.

Now if they had a nighttime show, like Fantasmic or Illuminations I would probably change my mind.

I'd give up parades in a heartbeat over fireworks. Hands down, no question.

As a side note, here is an LA Times article about locals complaining about Disneyland Fireworks. The simple solution is of course don't live next to Disneyland. As ruffled as some may get, the two in the article have lived there for a few decades.

Yeah, this completely annoys me as well.

Very, very few - if ANY - people who live in the vicinity who complain about the fireworks have lived there for 55 years. If you've lived there since before Disney came, then fine, complain - but if you moved there any time in the last 55 years, you knew what you were getting in to, and should just move or deal with it.

My wife and I didn't bother with the Parades last year since we wanted to do other things.

However, with my DD coming with us this year I'm more apt to see the parades. This leads me to my opinion where I think the parades were more based around for children while the FW were for the everyone.

So if I had to get rid of one I would again say the parades.
