Not to stir the pot too much, but if you have enough money for a laptop and for a car, how hard would it be to go into the McDonald's and at least support them a bit by purchasing a burger or fries or a Coke or coffee?

I know we're all trying to save money, but would it hurt to at least help the company giving us something for free?

Got to say, that I can't really agree with supporting McDonalds. It's a huge, capitalist corporation which contributes to health problems all over the world so for that reason, I would not buy their food.

p.s. the irony of me condeming one huge corporation whilst posting on the forum of another is not lost on me! At least WDW promotes some good values.

Bizarrely, I paid the $9.95 for my first day of internet access at the resort. When the time expired, I was still able to access the internet, without having to re-register. Strange, but true. When I got my bill at check out today, I was only billed for a single day.

Maybe its a glitch, which resort was it? And so you only pay per day you use it?

Yeah, they've only sold 300 trillion burgers (which is like what, 2 lbs. of ground beef? less?)

It was at Pop Century. The way it works is when you agree to pay the $9.95, you are paying for 24 hours of internet access. At the end of the 24 hours, you conceivably should have to sign up and pay again. But, it did not work that way this trip for me. Maybe I got lucky.

Internet access at Disney should be free.
Most hotels are free.
When your at disney you usually only get online for a few minutes to email friends and family and send a few pics then its back to playing at the parks.
So your paying 9.95 for an hour or less worth of service.

Yes Disney is not inexpensive but they have always had lots of extras included that help make it a magical experience.
When you start nickle and diming your guests they catch on pretty quick.

Disney knows they are in for some hard times because of the economy. They will quickly get back into the "we love our fellow Floridian" act again soon.
This time it will be harder because we all have no money this go round.

Please make changes, I want to keep coming back, and I will. The problem is most of my family and friends are not or cannot. That makes it more difficult going.

Disney will need to make changes, first will be stop with the high profit margins, at least for a year.

Ok I'm done. I love the parks, always have I just get frustrated seeing them become a little less disney everyday.

I dont see why people want to look for free wifi... if you're at disney your most likely on vacation and not using the computer all that much. if you need to contact someone don't most bring a phone to talk or text the other person.

Or if you own an iPhone you can ride IASW and check posts on wdwmagic, cut out the middle man and go through the cellphone towers. Also as for the whole MCDonalds hoopla... That does sound kinda shady, this same person drives through their neighborhood back home and hijacks signal to download .

Because Mcdonalds is absolutly disgusting and sickening. I feel sick just thinking about it. Even there salads are disgusting.

For me it's because it costs a fortune to use a mobile phone in the US to ring home to the UK, especially for data calls. Free (or cheap) wifi at Disney would be fantastic to keep in touch with those at home. Last time we came to the US in 2005 a lot of the hotels he stayed in had free wifi (and they were small remote hotels so no excuse for Disney!).

My last trip I got lucky with a dryer in the laundry room which would run forever.
