Thanks for the tip,

Whilst it's still not mega convinient, I'm sure a lot of people would benefit from this.

Not to stir the pot too much, but if you have enough money for a laptop and for a car, how hard would it be to go into the McDonald's and at least support them a bit by purchasing a burger or fries or a Coke or coffee?

I know we're all trying to save money, but would it hurt to at least help the company giving us something for free?

Have you seen the prices at that McDonald's lately?

Anyhoo, I also found out that you can dance if you want to at Disney for free.

You can leave your friends behind, as well.

What if you're not hungry? Or if, like me, you find McDonald's "food" to be rather disgusting?

That's easy -- just purchase a drink of some kind or maybe even a dessert...apple pies make an excellent mid-afternoon/late night snack!:D

The point is to help the business that is being nice enough to provide this service. I think the phrase went something like "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours...":ROFLOL:

Just pay the $9.95 at your resort. I just cannot see leaving your resort or park, getting in a car and driving to McDonalds, sitting in your car with a laptop on doing whatever and then driving back and not even going into McDonalds. BTW if you are paying all the money to rent a car and not using DME then just pay for the service and stop being so cheap. I personally rather enjoy my day then go back to my room relax and use the internet if I really need to. What it costs me per hour to enjoy the parks is a lot more than $9.95.

Who really needs to be on the internet everyday when your @ WDW?

For anybody who feels compelled to follow the letter of the law... not buying something may be in fact criminal.

I believe Florida has a similar law, so beware! Now of course it's doubtful it will ever happen at a McDonalds at Disney World, but interesting none the less that it could.

What if I dont want their food or beverage. Could I just purchase a single McNugget... but not eat it? I would just leave it out... so everyone could see that I purchased something.

as mcdonalds is one of very few businesses that recently reported a profit increase during this recession, im not quite sure they need me to purchase something to use their free internet.

This is not the first time someone has been arrested for piggybacking on a WiFi connection. In 2005, a Florida man was arrested and hit with a third-degree felony for surfing an open WiFi network from his SUV. Similarly, an Illinois man was arrested in 2006 for, again, using an unsecured WiFi network from his car. He pleaded guilty to the charges and was given one year's court supervision and a $250 fine. A Washington man was also arrested in 2006 for parking outside of a coffee shop and using the open WiFi connection without purchasing anything. And just earlier this year, an Alaska man was arrested for using the WiFi network from the public library after hours to play games from—you guessed it—his car in the parking lot.

Because we all know McDonald's is a struggling Mom and Pop restaurant.
