Yeti Still Operating in B Mode

This hawk thing just sounds odd in the descriptions. Are there rustling sound effects or something else that are meant to make it sound like the yeti is about to pop out then it's a bird? That would actually be kind of funny and a nice effect. Guess I'll see in a few months.

Here's to hoping A (mode that is) for August!

Yea it was in B mode on Sunday. Still had a lot of fun on the ride though. Just wish you could see the Yeti for another second longer in B mode, cause especially in the front you go by it so fast you can't even really make it out.

Word on the street from insiders is that the Yeti allegedly lost a screw or bolt (do not know the size) over the weekend while moving (as a train sped past) and landed on a lady. She was/is fine, not injured, just startled. The ride went down for a lengthy time after that but is back up, but now WDI is going back in to work on Mr Yeti. It seems the powers that be have finally decided not to have Yeti moving (hence B mode) until they can assess and fix this problem.

I cant wait to see the yeti in full motion like they showed on the Discovery Channel. I didnt think it was going to move that much but it moved quite a bit.

Thats pretty much the story my friend got from the CM over the weekend. She said something hit someone in a train as it went by...luckily it was something small.

It really is pretty impressive in person---particularly in the front car. Even though I knew it was coming I still ducked out of instinct the first time I rode in the front when he swung that enormous arm of his at the train. Similar effect happens for the back of the train but not quite as effective as being in the first... Really feels like he's going to hit you.

I rode it twice, the Tuesday after it opened (both in A mode) but I don't remember a hawk at all....and one ride I was in the second row..so I wouldn't have had any problem seeing it..hm...?

I was busy in WDW when this aired and missed it. Does anyone know of a re-run?

Wow... yeah it's a good thing no one judged the ride in previews because lord knows the ride has gotten a whole lot better since opening officially like everyone said and any negative comments during previews were clearly wrong. :brick: Oh wait... the ride has fewer effects working now that it is officially open than it did during previews. I'm sorry but didn't WDI test any of these effects or think ahead about how the mist would effect the train? These rides are YEARS in the making and they didn't think the mist would cause sensor problems? It's just like how the spitting effect on Dinosaur caused the EMV's to slip so it isn't like water causing problems is new to WDI. I mean honestly... the ride has a bird on a stick, mist, steam, and a tv-screen and these "state of the art" effects aren't even working half the time. To make things worse, the biggest reason to venture onto the ride, the Yeti, is now broken. What a remarkable disappointment.

Good news everyone! The Yeti was running it's A show today. And Andymagic, I can really tell you don't go to often. You hear things are broken and that must mean "Everything breaks and is broken.." . Here in the real world, ALL of the effects are working 1/4th the time. Just like any other ride.

Glad to hear, I really don't mind what mode the ride is operating in as long as it's open on Sat. or Sun. Can't be as problematic as Pan when I operated it a few years ago...we did 3 E-stops in less than an hour and thankfully it started up again w/o having to call in for repairs...

I did the same thing! I also made some sort of "whoa!" type noise.

It was cool :D

HOLY COW was at AK yesterday the 19th and rode EE 3 times twice in the morning and was suppose to come back at 4 to ride fast pass but got there and it was broken down and they told us they had no time table for fixing it, but at 6:30 we checked and it was running so I got somemore A mode goodness. Oh and interesting Note here if you try to get on in a wet bathing suit or any bathing suit thats not covered up by shorts you wont be allowed to ride due to healthy and sanitation rules or something like that. I saw a whole family of 9 get off the ride due to one member having a wet bathing suit on and the CM that told her she couldnt ride told some guy behind me that he told a girl that recently and she peed in her suit. Guess thats why the rule. anyways thats all i have to say is A MODE IS AWESOME YETI ROCK ON

So 75 percent of people riding it aren't even getting the full effect of the ride is basically what you are saying. Not to mention, I wouldn't mind if a simple effect like mist was broken if the ride actually had show scenes and other effects. Sadly, the mist is one of only 4 simple effects on the ride so when it isn't working, it has a bigger effect than say, the Haunted Mansion having something broken which has countless things to look at.
