I read that and I wanted to say, "Wow... You're serious? Disney knows it's broken? Really?":hammer:

When you see the amount of lightbulbs burnt out, missing show elements frin certaub attractions, and blatant graffiti in the park. You wonder what they know.

They`ve been looking at ways to fix the problem for a good year now. There are 2 main scenarios they have without closing the attraction, but until people stop riding - or stop visiting the park - typically there isn`t a rush to get it done.

I just got a kick out of how you started a thread to give an "update" that was really just to say nothing that anyone here didn't already know. It's like starting a thread to say, "Just a quick update everyone: The sky is still blue".
I said that I would post when I got a reply from Disney in this thread. http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=407215&page=5

That thread was already a month old with no other postings, so I just figured I would start a new one.

Edit: Sorry if I worded the original post weird. Next time I'll stick it in General Discussion if you want.

I think Disney will continue to drag its feet on this one. People still ride the attraction and they don't need to fix it. Not like Dinosaur where they have contingent animatronics to replace certain ones that aren't working.

It seems like attendance problems is Disney's excuse for everything now. They won't expand the parks or add new attractions because not enough people will be going to the parks anytime soon - yet they won't close current attractions because too many people are visiting them.
What the heck!?!

They feel as long as they keep throwing new parades and stage shows at us we'll be happy.

Oh, are you talking about the the Mummy AA at Revenge of the Mummy that hasn't worked in years??? :drevil:

Waste

of

Money

:hurl:

Just like the Yeti that always seems to be in B-Mode... Or the Angler fish on Nemo that never works...

All parks have trouble with Advanced AAs, not just Universal...

Good point. Although in all seriousness, I think it's pretty safe to assume that Disney is aware that the main feature in one of their newest big ticket attractions is not working. If it were to take me several emails and phone calls just to find out that (and nothing more) I think I would be embarassed to come here and start a whole new thread just to "report" that. :hammer:

It reminded me of this "Seinfeld" episode where Elaine had a co-worker who wore a hearing aid but she suspected he wasn't really deaf and was just faking it. There was one scene where Jerry ran into him in the men's room and kept making noise behind him to see if he'd jump, but he couldn't really tell if it had worked. Then he ran excitedly to Elaine's office to tell her about what he did and Elaine said something to the effect of, "So...basically you have no useful information to report other than what we already knew? Good detective work!". This thread just kind of reminded me of that. It was funny.

Last time I rode on Mummy, the AA was not working... And last October, Yeti was in B mode, and other AAs were not working like I remember...

When I close my attraction I be sure to report everything I see that is not right, like burnt out lights, on my checklist and the next day I work I still see its not fixed so...

So sad. Uni actually implemented a show quality system where CMs were encouraged to report everything not show-correct, and 3rd shift would fix it. No matter how small. In late summer 2007 Revenge of the Mummy, Jaws and Twister had every single effect working.

No doubt. And that is sad. But that still is not the same thing has having the most prominent element in an attraction be down and to think that it's "news" to report that Disney is aware of it (as the OP did). That's what I thought was funny.
