LOTS of moving parts.

They shut the music off about 10 - 15 seconds in. Click click!

Very unique evac. I had to evac Tower of Terror when we got stuck in the basement.

Slightly off topic, but Splash looked great today, jumping water in the laughing place, hopping B'rer Rabbit, waterfalls working. Only one AA not working on the showboat

What about Mr. Bluebird at the ride's end - the one perched on Brer Rabbit's mailbox? He wasn't moving the last time I rode Splash.

I am amazed at the number of people that not only notice every single animatronic, but, remember if it was working or not. I know that a lot of you do that, but, I have no comprehension as to why! Maybe that is why I've been able to go there for 31 years and still enjoy it like I did in my early days. I have noticed, from time to time, certain AA's that weren't working, but, I always asked myself, if I'm sure I remember it working before and did it change the experience for me. The answer is usually no. Only once did I make a mental note because it was an obvious long term problem.

Anyway, that must be what separates those of us that just go because we enjoy the parks and those that are self called, "purists" that have a need to have nothing out of place and can think of no excuse for it being anything less then perfect. To me, not being able to do that, makes things more fun for me because I allow reality to be part of the story. Fantasy is wonderful, but, even a fantasy based theme park exists within real world reality.

Can't speak for anyone else but for some reason I've always automatically made mental notes when something wasn't working right, even when I was a kid and still thought Disney was perfect.

Off-topic, but when are the batteries that power the Tower vehicles charged?
Are they just charged overnight?

They are charged while the vehicle is sitting at the Unload position. It's the only time the vehicles sit in any one place that's not in a Load or Drop shaft.

And that Tower evac pic is very interesting. They actually advanced the vehicle *beyond* the Unload point and took the Guests off in the spot where the vehicle sits and waits to re-enter one of the Load shafts. (The vehicle then travels up one level to the Boiler Room level) Typically that stretch is in total darkness and no riders ever ride on a vehicle in that section of track.

I wonder if it was done because a) they needed to evac two vehicles (the other one seen in the pic) and decided to advance the first one to get it out of the way, or b) the CM at Unload accidentally hit the Advance button on their console, causing it to leave the Unload point and forcing them to E-stop the ride.

Oh, and while there are tool cases seen in the photos, the actual Maintenance workshop is behind the roll-up door seen in the background of the second photo. That's where the spare vehicle is stored for that side of the attraction and they can work on a vehicle while the attraction is operating.

That maintenance bay is the one area of the ride you can see on the backstage magic tour.

I can tell you exactly what happened. We were rolling up to the exit door where we would've gotten off the ride when all of a sudden it just stopped. As you can see another elevator came out of the drop shaft. When the CM's came in they remotely moved the vehicle away from the door. My only guess as to why is maybe that door doesn't open when the ride e stops so they had to get us out with those movable stairs. If you have any more questions feel free to ask :)
