What do they different type of modes mean that I see on here about attractions, and or animatronics?

The Yeti's "A" mode, as it was intended, featured a massive swipe of the Yeti's arm over the train as it passed by. This was intimidating, awesome, and epic.

"A" mode caused a problem that the Imagineers didn't count on. Due to the Yeti's immense weight, the constant swiping caused the structural integrity of his concrete base to be compromised. He was switched into "B" mode, where he is stationary, but strobe lights are intended to cause the "illusion" of movement. "B" mode is great if it's all you've seen, but for those who have seen "A" mode, it is a severe disappointment.

The strobe lights have given rise to the nickname "disco yeti".

I'm honestly not sure if there's a "written standard" for the letter designations, but at least on here, A-Mode means the AA or attraction is working as designed, while B-Mode means it's working in a less than desirable manner, or not at all.

It's very arbitrary, and people on here pretty much make it up as they go. Again, there may be an official list of letter designations within the company, but they're tossed around far too freely on here.

For all intents and purposes, the Yeti is still in "B-Mode" since he's definitely not working as designed.

To spite all of the people (including me) who have been complaining about "B" mode for months (going on years), I think Imagineering should rig the Yeti to randomly maul one guest per day.

That'll show 'em.

I have seen two other moods. For a couple of days in the past weeks, I have seen the in real "C" and "D" mode

"C" mode - the Yeti has a light shine on him without any strobes. He is clearly seen and clearly not moving

"D" mode - no lights and can't see the Yeti. He is covered up and all you can see is his red lights.

What many here don't know is that the Yeti actually reads these forums, and the constant mocking of his B-mode really gets into his head. When he can't take anymore he goes into D-mode, hiding behind his curtain of shame, and working through a fit of depression. Don't worry, he gets over it fairly quickly.
