That would be a nice way to celebrate it! It probably wouldn't work that long though...Yeah. Probably false alarm but the timing is interesting with the 15th anniversary coming this month.

The centerpiece of a marquee attraction is considered a "little thing?"
Am I the only one that doesn't care that the Yeti "doesn't work"? It's a pointless animatronic, because you zip past it you don't have much time to notice it anyway. The strobe light effect is decent, the whole thrill of the ride isn't tied up in the animatronic, it's because it's a rollercoaster through a cool mountain. *shrug*
I'm not trying to hate on anyone who wants to see the Yeti back at full show, but I just don't think he's that special. He's there. You see the majestical Yeti, and in about 2 seconds notice you're out of his grasp! Hooray!
Would've been better if the vehicle stopped and it was a short show scene at the end, and then the vehicle took a deep dive to escape (obviously the whole layout of the coaster would be different) but at least then that would give purpose to the animatronic.
Oh well. Cool news if it's back up, otherwise, still cool!
I've ridden the ride many times in the past 3 years (that he's been broken), and I barely notice him. I watched a video of them planning out the ride, and all I can say to the Imagineers who did it is...not enough time to appreciate the animetronic.
I love the ride, and would love to see the Yeti fixed, but I'm not sure what it does to the ride since they spent so much time on computer modeling that they didn't take into account first hand experience.
Oh well...
You always go after people who really are just trying to contribute she is happy things are improving so keep the sass to yourself. Anyways, I'll try head out to AK over the weekend to confirm if this is true or not but I seriously doubt it.The centerpiece of a marquee attraction is considered a "little thing?"
Good luck my friend! My point exactly! If you sneeze and blink, you'll miss him. Don't waste the money fixing him, just leave him be as a statue. The strobe light does it justice imo.
Yes, I agree. The Yeti when it really was working was the best theme park head chopper ever. The first time I rode I involuntarily ducked. After that I knew they had a winning Animatronic Encounter on their hands. Sadly no one realizes just how great A mode was.
I'm just asking. Have you ever actually experienced the attraction with the Yeti working? In person, not YouTube or tv show.Am I the only one that doesn't care that the Yeti "doesn't work"? ohhhhhNote the Yeti's glassy-eyed appearance. That is because they are glass.
