Because you guys are ALWAYS such a help :D

I'm trying to save as much $$ as possible when I go down to WDW this October. My friend is a CM and I want to use her room discount....BUT I also want the dining plan. I wonder, is this possible? Or do i have to pay full-price for my room to get the dining plan? I will probably call CRO on this, but wanted to ask you folks first

Hi Heather, I am Heather too!!! :king:

Anyhow I don't know about your specific case but I will tell you that I am a passholder and I went in September. I had booked my room through passholder website to get the passholder rate, when I found out about the dining I wanted to do it so I contaced Pam at Kingdom Konsultants and she told me that in oder to get the dining you have to book a package. So I had to give up my passholder rate (which at the time wasn't much of a difference) and booked a package. The dining plan is based on the number of nights that you stay at your hotel however I had to buy a one day park ticket to make it a "package". It didn't make me very happy to have to buy a one day park ticket for me and my husband, ended up being another $120 however it ended up worth it and we never used our ticket so we can save it for when we need it or turn it in should we decide to renew our APs. Since the Disney Dining plan is part of the package then I would have to say that if you are booking your room through a CM discount then I would think that you could not add on dining. As far as I know the only people who can purchase the dining plan without a package is DVC members.

Hope this helps!

To get the Dining plan. you have to book a package including room, tickets, and Dining. The only room discount you could get with the package would be through AAA if you are a member. You'd have to book the package through the AAA TA- you'd get the room at a discounted rate (usually 15-20%, depending on the resort catagory and time of year).

DVC Dining Plans

Presently there are no dining plans for DVC members - although they (DVC) indicate that something is coming later this year!

I stumbled on this thread, and did not see any other info on DVC with the Dining Plan. You may know by now, but DVC members can now purchase the dining plan prior to check-in. We will be doing this for the first time this year. It will also be our first time durring the holiday season!:xmas: Can't wait!

Maybe we'll bump into you at the Wilderness Lodge! Merry Disney.
