Yet another August 12-22 trip report.

So, the last couple of days I've been debating on whether or not I was up for the challenge of completing an entire trip report. Well, I've decided I'm going to give it a shot.

On this trip was my mom, dad, brother (14), sister(9), and then there was myself (21)

We stayed for 10 days at the Beach Club. The Beach Club is one of my favourite places, we have stayed here our past 4 visits. New to this trip was that we got the length of stay pass and the dining plan. I found both to be great calls, although now my stomach is so used to eating a ton of food that it's hard being back home.

So, stay tuned for day 1, there will be pictures! I hope i do not disappoint!

Thank you all! I'm glad you're still enjoying it!

Day 10

Day 10 was another eventful day. Nothing was planned so we went all over the place. The plan had been that my family was going to go to Typhoon Lagoon and I was going to go shop in the World Showcase. I'm not a huge water park fan. Anyways, they decided to just stay at the hotel, grab lunch, and swim there. I still went over to World Showcase alone to shop.

When I got there it was around 12 and I went into the World Traveller store to grab a times guide. I had always wanted to see Miyuki and since I was alone, there was nothing standing in my way. So, off I went.

I started out in the UK. I work with a woman from England and I wanted to get her some chocolates. I made the mistake of buying two Galaxy ripples at the beginning of my day... they were water by the end. After the UK, I went off toward France, Morocco and Japan.

I noticed on this day that all the stars were gone off of Spaceship Earth. (Yes, I know, old news.) I had took the picture so you couldn't see the crane.

Japan was my goal. I really wanted to go into the store again. The store was awesome as usual, but I didn't let myself buy anything. I wanted one of those lucky cats, but held back.

Now it was about time for Miyuki. I stood there with another family while the booth was set up. Seriously, this little show thing is soo cool. I want to make sculptures out of candy. It's really fun to watch. I wasn't chosen to get a candy animal, but that's okay.

When the show ended, I went over to America. I had planned to go to Sunshine Seasons for lunch to get my sandwich, but the chicken caeser in the Liberty Inn caught my eye. While going there I noticed a ton of characters just on the other side of the pavillion. There was one picture I had to get because I knew it would make my brother soo jealous, so i asked the woman out with the characters to take the picture for me.

Country Bears!

After my quick photo opportunity, I had my lunch and headed out of Epcot. It was hot and I wanted a bit of a break from all the walking.

I found my family in the kids pool in Stormalong Bay. They were participating in a Name that Tune kind of game. They play so many games at this pool, pretty cute.

The family had managed to get 5:00 reservation at Rose and Crown, so we were heading back to the World Showcase again.

More soon!

More day 10.

Not long after getting back to the hotel, I was on my way back to the World Showcase with the family. We went to all the same spots I had visited earlier in the day. We even watched Miyuki again, this time we got a candy though! It's a shark. I still have it actually.

When we got to America, the characters were there again. We got some great pictures here and I am going to post my favourites. (My brother ended up getting the Country Bear picture too)

So, I guess when it was almost time for the characters to leave, they stopped letting people into the alleyway where they were.. So a lot of them ended up just standing there, this made for good multiple character pictures.

They look like they're plotting something.

Anyways, after this photo extravaganza, it was time for dinner. We walked over and found my dad with a beer in the pub.

We had to sit outside, which at first we were iffy about, but it didn't end up being that hot.

There's my parents. It's a shame it was so bright, having the other countries in the backround would have been really nice.

A manager at the restaurant came up and started talking to me. He told me that he was told to give the first pretty baby girl he saw a free pin.. then he handed the pin to my mom. She was thrilled. He was funny.... I guess.

Now I'm going to take a moment to say that we had the best waitress at the Rose and Crown. Her name was Charis and she was awesome.

Anyways, not surprising the big food order here was the Harry Ramsden's Fish and Chips. This fish was huge!

I had the roast chicken, it was good too. I liked the Sticky Toffee Pudding better though.

The rest of Day 10.

While at dinner we decided it would be fun to play some mini putt that night. I don't know what we did between dinner and mini putt.. We walked to Fantasia Gardens and got there around 8:30. We wanted to play in the dark.

It was much busier than it had been on our previous trip. We had to wait a long time. It was almost 9 when we started, I know this because Fantasmic sounded like it was about finished, and Illuminations started up not long after.

So, we played our game. I'm pretty sure my Dad won. I came in 4th. Some of the effects weren't working, but that was alright.

When we finished, my dad and I split up from the rest of the family at the Swan. We were going over to Downtown Disney to experience the Adventurer's Club for the first time.

My id was too obscure, so I didn't get to drink. No big deal. I really liked the Adventurer's Club. We got to see a couple of the shows in the library and they were awesome. Hathaway Brown sang some song and told me to cry out... I had no cry!! Noooo! I was angry at myself and my lack of crying out abilities.

We stayed until closing time and regretted not going earlier in the trip. Oh well, it's good to know for next time!

LAST DAY NEXT!!

Day 11, the final day!!

My family woke up early and decided they were going to do Typhoon Lagoon today. I decided to go back to Epcot again. I had decided that I wanted to buy my cousin the Jack Skellington pillow I had seen at Downtown Disney, and I wanted to hunt it down.

At around 10 I was inside Epcot. The World Showcase, which was my favourite place this trip, was still closed. So I decided to head over to Mouse Gears. I took the pathway beside the McDonald's french fries booth. The path had big walls up around it for the Food and Wine festival.

I made it to the other side and noticed a group of about 3 cast members. I didn't really look at them, I thought maybe they were discussing Food and Wine things or something. Then one started to walk towards me and I noticed that they strange group of Cast Members were Dream Squad!! In the man's hand was a stack of Dream Fastpasses!! I was so excited. I think my exact words were "No way, Stop it, Stop it". I thanked them and skipped away. I didn't think about the Year of a Million Dreams the whole time we were there, I really didn't think I'd win anything at all... but i did!!

dreamfastpass.jpg

Hooray! Of course, I won it alone so it wasn't as much fun. Also, being alone, it was easy getting on most of these rides quickly anyways. However, I was determined to use some of it just because I had won it. So I went on Test Track. I sat beside a little girl who was hilarious.

After Test Track, I went over to Land Pavillion. I wanted my sandwich. While heading down to Sunshine Season, I noticed that fastpass for Soarin' was at 2:57-3:57. So, I went and got one for my mom. It's her favourite ride.

I ate my sandwich alone, which was the really the only time I felt weird being by myself.

After lunch I walked around Epcot some more. I saw the Muppet Mobile Lab, which was a surprise. I knew it was out in California, but I had never heard rumour of it coming to Epcot.

After wondering Epcot for the rest of the day, I went back to hotel. I beat my family back. Waiting for them was hard. I was so excited to show them my fastpass. Ohhhh the jealousy when they got back.

My mom and I ran back to Epcot quickly so that we could ride Soarin'.

We made last minute reservations at Spoodles for dinner. We asked the concierge desk in the lobby of the Beach Club for a Spoodles reservation, but they told us they were full. We went to the Boardwalk to try and get into the Big River Grill and Brewing works, on the way past Spoodles we walked in and got in no problem.

The dinner was really good. We had been to Spoodles on a previous trip and had been disappointed, this time it was better.

We had yet to see Fantasmic and decided that's how we would spend our final evening. On the way into MGM, I took this Year of a Million Dreams themed picture outside the park.
yoamd.jpg

We headed over to Fantasmic. On the way, I ran into the Villain store and found the Jack Skellington pillow I wanted for my cousin. My dad, brother, and sister went into the Fantasmic theatre while my mom and I decided to take on Tower of Terror one more time. The Tower of Terror is my favourite ride in Disney World and I only got to ride it twice this trip, which was a bit disappointing. MGM didn't have very good hours, we usually go back late at night and just ride it continually but were unable to this trip.

Anyways, for the 3rd or 4th time in our Disney trip history, we were able to find the rest of the family sitting in the Fantasmic theatre. We're always amazed at how easy it is to do this! It was still bright outside so I took a picture of the stage.

Fantasmic.jpg

We watched the show, it was as good as ever, and headed out. My mom and brother went over to Epcot's Extra Magic Hours. My dad, sister and I decided to use up our last minute counter services and snacks in the Beach Club Marketplace.

The next 2 days involved checking out and driving home. Those days aren't fun to relive sooo I won't.

The secret to my memory was that I took soo many pictures, and every night I plugged my camera into my computer. So, each day had a file of photos that assisted me in recalling the trip!

Alright everyone!! We did it!! The full 10 day vacation!!

Thank you so much for reading!

Now that the trip is over we did join the Disney Vacation Club, we bought at the Animal Kingdom Lodge!! I'm so excited about this! It means that we have our next trip planned for August 17-27, 2008! It's surreal to have another trip less than a year away. We have our fingers crossed for Boardwalk Villas!

I'm also extremely interested in trying for the International program for a year. If anyone has any info on it, I would love to hear it!!

Thanks again for reading!!

thanks for the report! I enjoyed reading it.
Maybe its just me, but what are the Country Bears doing in Epcot?
I've never seen that before!!

Not quite the same as the interantional program, but I did do the
college program a few years back. It was amazing, and very well worth it.
I think you would really enjoy it and benefit from it.

Right on. I really want to give the international program a shot. I'm working on how to go about taking a year off of school, I don't want to wait until I'm finished.
