You guys want quality retro shirts? Go look on red bubble. Way better selection, quality, and prices. Plus, those shirts are made by people who appreciate and have a passion for the parks.

...and have no rights to use the logos, if one cares about that sort of thing.
I'm not saying I don't buy shirts from them.

T-shirt quality has deteriorated in the last few years. My wardrobe is largely Disney and baseball t-shirts and I've really seen them come down significantly in quality. Major League Baseball sells shirts that shrink, height wise making many of their shirts pseudo belly shirts. Anyone that has met me personally knows that's not a pretty site.
YES. Probably 3 out of the last 5 shirts I've bought from Disney (online and in the parks) have holes in the pit and have shrunk. The F&W shirts we got last year shrunk a full size, so I can wear my husband's, but he's left with nothing. He was pretty sad. They are so inconsistent with their apparel.

Just dropping in to catch up on mail and saw this thread and your post.

What sickens me beyond belief is that these things will sell and will sell big time. Every Lifestyler out there sucking off of Disney's teets will be telling their flocks how amazing these are and how they can purchase them.

I'm sorry, but if someone raped your childhood, you don't turn around and buy the tee that commemorates that.

I am so glad that Scary Steven likes his Imagination tee. I also had the original. But I also don't prostitute myself (better than the 'W' word filter patrol?) for Bob Iger's Company for a living, so I have no interest whatsoever in buying this or a Horizons one or an Adventurer's Club one or a Spectro Magic one etc etc. If you loved Journey and you buy this, then you (not YOU individually, but collectively) are a flat out hypocrite or have serious impulse control issues.
The purchase of the shirt doesn't make you a hypocrite any more than say buying an autograph of a retired baseball player makes you a hypocrite. People are allowed to celebrate memories, if you choose not to, that's your decision.

Still would like to see Gildan's 6.1 oz shirts on there.

Some additional info on these shirts.
  • The XS tech shirt is Hanes – 100% Preshrunk Cotton, I'm fairly certain that's there 5.2 oz shirt which is the equivalent of the heaviest shirt available on Red Bubble
  • The Preview Center shirt is Raglan – 50% Polyester / 25% Cotton / 25% Rayon
  • The Imagination shirt is Gildan DryBlend – 50% Cotton / 50% Polyester. If that's the case than it may be a higher quality shirt than I anticipated.

When I left Tokyo I was really disappointed in the merchandise so I made two custom shirts. I was able to order them before they got pulled down.View attachment 156337

That is one of the most disappointing things about TDL. So little merch and clothing indicating it's the Tokyo Disney Resort.

We found a jacket there our first time that was perfect. Had the logo and Tokyo stitched into the back. That's the only piece of clothing we could find that we liked, on either trip.

We settled for cookie tins with TDR specific scenes in the background, unique plushes, etc... And some REALLY cool placemats.

It's just not a cultural thing to care about the park name, apparently. I think that's about the ONLY cultural thing I didn't love there. ;)

youre lucky to get 1 t-shirt a trip. The Clothiers at TDL and the apparel shop at Med Harbor and the Aladdin shop are the only places Ive ever seen them on sale.

I mean, if you want to pay for some lifestylers AP and promote pirated merch, by all means.

I'm not taking a position on the original statement, but your analogy is not congruous. A better analogy would be if your favorite baseball player was unceremoniously cut by his team and the next season that team was selling jerseys with his name on the back.
