Yak and Yeti: Yay or Nay?

I was considering making a first-time dining reservation at Yak and Yeti in the Animal Kingdom and was wondering if anyone who's eaten there has an opinion on it.
I've looked at the menu and the food seems okay, but is it great? Any good dishes? Is the atmosphere really laid back? And how is the divide between the counter service and sit down eating space?

Disney dining is one of my favorite parts of our trips, and I'd love to give Yak and Yeti a try.

The food is not great but it is good. Everyone is pleasant and the atmosphere is nice. The bathrooms are very very small. We have also found the service to be very SLOW. Don't go if you are in a hurry.

Get the fried Wontons for dessert. SUPER YUMMY

We have eaten there twice and we really enjoy it. The potstickers are great and the Mango pie is one of my all time favorite desserts. My wife had the fried won ton dessert and loved it. I love the amazing architecture/design at Yak & Yeti and the atmosphere is great, especially on the second floor. I highly recommend it.

My daughter and I thought the meal at Yak and Yeti's was the best of our trip. Our service was great. I really enjoyed the steak and shrimp tempura dish - I asked for the coconut-ginger rice with it. The wok-fried green beans are wonderful and I highly recommend the fried wonton dessert - awesome!

I found this location to be average to good, but not great. I also didnt get a great feeling of value for money here.

The split between counter and the sit down is not a problem. The counter service is totally outdoors, while the sit down is indoors. You can get some of the same dishes outside that you can get inside, for about half the cost.

It isnt in my top 10, and if you are looking for something exotic, that delivers big on value and taste, go for Boma, then do Yak and Yeti counter service.

We get better Asian-fare at home at Pei Wei (a spin off of the PF Changs restaurants). We weren't that impressed. The decor and theming are great. We had a table by the windows upstairs which gave us the BEST view of the Jingle Jungle Parade. That location/view was the best part of our experience at Yak-n-Yeti. Both hubby and I had indigestion the rest of the day, too.

I ate at the Yak & Yeti during my trip in April. I thought it had a great food! The fried green beans, ribs, and fried wontons were excellent!! For sure give it a try. In my opinion it's well worth it!

I found the food to be quite good, but if you expect it to be on par with Nine Dragons, you will be disappointed. I will definitely dine there again the next time I'm at AK, since I usually prefer a sit down meal over counter service.

If you've never tried it, it's definitely worth a shot- and then you can decide for yourself whether or not its worth a 2nd visit.

DH and I went in March and thought the food very good. I liked the fact there was beer from that region of the world, as I am a picky beer drinker. Try Tiger beer if you are a drinker. I loved the Mahi Mahi and DH had Salmon. Both were delicious. Shrimp tempura was also very good. We have reservations for August... It is a very nice change from the Rainforest Cafe which was the only sit down in AK. I much preferred Yak and Yeti to RC.
