Yak and Yeti Restaurant šŸ˜

Yak and Yeti is a Landry's restaurant, so you can expect a similar vibe/ambiance/experience as Rainforest and T-Rex. We weren't aware of this the first time we visited and thought it would be more authentic, like Tiffins. (My fault for not doing enough research.) But we've been back several times and have always had good food and service. The nice thing is if you have a Landry's card, you can get priority seating.

It's operated by Landry's, but it was designed by Walt Disney Imagineering (just like everything else within the DAK gates). So, Landry's shouldn't factor into the vibe/ambiance (unless you're including the food or service as an aspect of those).

The look of the menus and the decor did make it feel similar to Rainforest. As far as the food, things like nachos, lettuce cups, burgers, ribs and such do tend to give the place a ā€œchainā€ feel.

The food we had was very good (potstickers, miso salmon and seafood curry); the restaurant was just not what we thought it would be. I didnā€™t mean to say it was bad. We definitely enjoyed it and went back a few times for lunch.

Yes
I've never eaten there before, but we are planning a trip. For anyone who feels like answering, would you rather eat at Yak & Yeti or Tusker House? We are bringing 2 first-timers and we want to show them the best possible time. :) One is a 12 year old boy and one is a 75 year old lady. (The 75 year old may be more of a picky eater than the boy...)

Tusker House is a buffet with lots of starches, bland food, and characters. Y&Y is table service with plenty of regular food to choose from along with Asian inspired foods. They have a full bar as well as some nice specialty cocktails. If you've eaten at Salt Grass, it's the same company so you can judge as to the food quality, just fewer beef choices (but they usually have at least one steak on the special menu).

We always do Yak, it's better for us than Tiffins (home of really weird food) and yes were Landry's members for over a decade.

IMHO TH is more fun and has more options for somebody that is picky as it's a buffet and characters are always a plus

Yak & Yeti is good, but Tusker House is a better Disney experience, I think. I really enjoy the buffet (lots of vegetarian options) and characters rotate around the restaurant for picture opportunities. Picky eaters will have much to choose from while also being able to meet Donald, Daisy, Mickey and Goofy. I go there once every trip.

One of the best desserts on property imo

The fried wontons!

Itā€™s also our one of our favorite places to eat. Never disappoints.
