Yak and Yeti or Rain Forest at Animal Kingdom?

I would take Yak and Yeti out of the two. You can go to Rainforest Cafe in most of the country, and it's all the way at the front of the park. Yak and Yeti is a more unique experience and has a more relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. And for what it's worth I think the food is a little bit better there. More unique.

For those who said "neither", what would be your choice in AK?

I don't think any of the sit down restaurants in AK are great. The best food option at AK is Flame Tree in my opinion. Or if you want sit down, book at AKL and drive 3 minutes to the resort to eat there.

Personally, I think Rainforest is horrible and way overpriced for the quality of food.

On the other hand, I was very suprised with Yak and Yeti. I had the duck for lunch and loved it.

If time is not an option, I would head to Sanaa at AKL-Kidani. If you want to stay in the park Yak and Yeti would be my choice for table service.

Counter Service - Flame Tree

Table Service - Tusker House

Yes, Tusker House has it's issues, mainly in the area of nothing very exciting. (Much the same way I feel about Boma) but it is not bad food. In fact it is sort of like "Boma-lite". I put it above the sporadic service and mish-mash of a menu that Yak & Yeti offers. Rainforest is just oversalted, deep fried, chain food dreck. The fact the same company that owns Rainforest also operates Yak & Yeti is evident.

Flame Tree is a tad pricey for what you get, but at least it tastes good.

Another vote for Yak and Yeti -- the seasonings they use are very good.

BUT -- and this is a BIG but...what ages are the folks in your group? IF you have adults, Yak and Yeti is far and away the better choice, especially if you like Asian food (think average quality mall chinese food with better seasoning and very nice servers)....but if you have under 10's, they will much prefer Rainforest Cafe, and you will have much more food variety to choose from there.

Finally -- I'll also throw in a comment about Flame Tree -- if you can avoid an indoor sit-down restaurant, and want the best food on the premises, then the BBQ food at Flame Tree is the best food at DAK -- but it's a Quick Service counter restaurant, and has outdoor (i.e. non-air-conditioned) seating. It also has unmanageable lines on busy days between 11:30 and 3:00...

My vote is for Rain Forest. We went for lunch in October.. had GREAT burgers, and the cheesecake was to die for and it did not cost a fortune. :sohappy:

I'd go with Rain Forest... I found Yak & Yeti to be really lacking when I ate there! Personally I found the Y & Y counter Service food to be way better then the actually rest.

My vote is for Rainforest. The last two times we've chosen Yak & Yeti and have been disappointed...food wasn't all that good and the service was rushed. We like the menu more at Rainforest...it seems like there's more choices. Either way...ENJOY!!!:slurp:

Y&Y We had a great lunch there before. My boys who were 5 & 3 liked it too. My only complaint was the the restaurant seemed to be freezing inside :)

I liked Y&Y. The food was good and the theming fits perfectly in the Asia part of DAK.

Rainforest is fine, but it's not Disney. You can do it somewhere else.

eaten every counter service @ AK at some point, and Y&Y is BY FAR the best at that park!
