Hello Dining Experts. Usually I go to Le Cellier for dinner each trip to the World. I will be going in late Jan-early Feb. and staying @ AKL. I have
booked my ADR's and I could not get Le Cellier all week, even tried solo.
I have heard such good things about the Yachtsman I booked there solo
one evening during the week (5:30PM on a Tues.). Will I be comfortable
going solo here, as I have never eaten there? Is there a bar or lounge section there that you can eat dinner? What are your favorite dishes
from appetizers, to the main course, to desserts!!!! In closing I have
heard some people like the Yachtsman better than Le Cellier, so do you think
I will miss Le Cell, or should I not even think about it and be happy with
the Yachtsman. Thanks to all for your feedback. You can chime in to
Master Yoder!!!!

We ate at the Yachtsman twice back in September. Seriously underwhelmed both times. I'll be honest, I've had better steaks at the local Roadhouse. Both times the cuts were sub-par for the prices asked. Grisly and fatty. Flavor was okay. Not great. Just okay. My favorite side was the sweet potato beignets. Those were impressive. Love love love the white sangrias. Maybe if I'd had a few more of them I wouldn't have minded so much about the steak. Lol!

Yes, there's a bar off to the side: The Crew's Cup. 1 of 2 visits we had good service. We were shocked, really. For a hotel's signature place to go you'd think things would be consistently good if not great.

We go to Yachtsman almost every year and it can be hit or miss. The server can make or break your meal. I in 4 sit downs would never eat all the potterhouse but it is the best cut they offer. Its always melt in your mouth tender. The 2 times we have eaten at LeCellier we have not been impressed. Last trip (August 2010) my steak was so burnt i could not eat it. So we will continue to go back Yachtsman and skip LeCellier.

Yeah, we had good service in the restaurant both visits. The steaks just weren't worth the prices (5 people in party, 3 different cuts) and it was unanimous on the review. I really was disappointed. I wanted it to be mind-blowing!

Haven't had LeCellier since 2009. Can't comment there. We haven't gone back because there were other places we wanted to try and LeCellier, although good (not great), wasn't a must for us.

My wife and I had a very good meal at Yachtsman's last December. Best service we'd ever had on property and the steaks and sides were very good, although not up the quality of a Morton's, for example.

As for whether you'll miss Le Cellier, it depends what you're looking for. Yachtsman tries to be a high-end steakhouse, whereas Le Cellier is has a more rounded menu that features a few good steaks. Yachtsman is going for a bit more relaxed and refined atmosphere (as much as you can get at WDW without going to Victoria and Alberts), vs. Le Cellier's typical high-energy theme park atmosphere. Frankly, while they both offer good steaks, I don't really think of Le Cellier and Yachtsman Steakhouse as being the same type of restaurant.

We love them both.... If I had to choose I would pick Yachtmans. I find the steak and sides more versatile and it is easier to get a resi there.

Crush Dude!

Back from WDW!Counting down to DLP in November!

We went to Le Cellier this summer and the food was fantastic. Absolutely brilliant. I had the strip and thoroughly enjoyed it. Admittedly the park had closed by the time we had finished our meal but the people working were busy cleaning and setting tables for the next day that it felt like we were being rushed and forced out by the CMs. Not cool. So that was a definite no-no. Service was average bar a nice introduction about our waitress' roots.

Now the Yachtsman was empty when we went last year so we almost had the place to ourselves. The porterhouse was delicious, finished every bite (one of life's greatest achievements) and the service was top notch.

Honestly couldn't pick between the two. I would love to go my dark horse again - Maya Grill at Coronado Springs. The Arrachera is in the top three steaks I've had in my life.

It blooming well better be if I'm having to use two dining credits to dine there. I've got both restaurants booked for my trip in May and while I know exactly what to expect at Le Cellier this will be my first trip to the Yachtsman.

I ain't no Adam Richman but that porterhouse is going down. :animwink:

Haven't been to Le Cellier, but had an excellent steak at the Yachtsman in May.

We did comment while we were there that in our section of the restaurant there were three single diners so you wouldn't have felt uncomfortable that evening!
