hello all. =)

has anyone eaten at the Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yact & Beach Club? I'm intrigued. it's expensive - far more expensive than similar establisments of property. I'm not willing to shell out $25 for a peice of cow unless it's real good - does anybody know?

thanks in advance. :)

Personally, I like Le Celleur at Canada better, but prefer Yachtsman to the Concourse Steakhouse. Yachtsman has a loyal following, though. You should perhaps do a search of these boards because several favorable reviews have been posted.

I've eaten there twice and the cuts were fine for me, a CIA-trained and apprenticed french chef.

I forget the price, but if $25 is for a filet, then its only overpriced if you're used to your average suburban steakhouse chain, otherwise that's average for city prices.

I'd recommend it over eating in Canada(Le Cellier) because of the lounge that's adjacent to it in the Y&B.

Also if you can, always eat out on a monday or tuesday night. Purveyors deliver freshest then.

lebernadin, Your post gave me my chuckle of the morning...at myself!

I looked quickly, and wondered why Langley was training operatives to be chefs! Perhaps to infiltrate palaces via the kitchen?

Then I realized CIA was the Culinary Institute of America. :o

:D Yeah that's a cheezy double entendre that never fails to bring up :veryconfu :veryconfu :veryconfu

hehe....

God forbid i'm ever trained by the more well-known CIA, with my Global knives and all.

My wife says the steak she had at Yachtsman was one of the best she has ever had. She likes LeCellier too, but I think the cheese soup was the big attraction there. My meal at Yachtsman was also good. The dessert sampler ROCKS.

interesting....

thanks all. =) I've never done Yachtsman or Le Cellier, but Cellier is on my do-do list in January. I'll have to swing by Yachsman someday and take a look around. the menu looks great, but I can only do one at a time. ;)

I've only had breakfast at Concourse, and I don't particuarly like the setup, so I've never looked into it.

yeah, Victoria and Albert's is always on the list, but I've never eaten there so I can't speak from expierence. it's just about the most expensive single thing at WDW, though...

We do the Concourse Steakhouse every trip. The food is good and its fun to watch the monorail go thru (thought last time we got mooned. ) My9 y/o thought it was the greatest.
We are saving the Yachtsman for a time when we don't have the kids with us.

Yachtsman is excellent, a little pricey but well worth it if your ready to have an exceptional meal while at WDW. The cuts are generous and very high quality.

Service is very good, good wine list, great desserts, or just walk over to Beaches and Cream.

I've entertained clients there and they all loved it.

Yachtsman is the absolute best restaurant in Disney!! We eat there twice every trip. It is pricey, but it is well worth it because it is the best meal of your life!! The filet mignon is to die for, as is the salt crusted baked potato. The bred and butter is fabulous, and so are the vegetables. The desserts are out of this world, and the atmosphere is unbelievable. When you eat there, request to sit in Oscar's section. He'll make your night!! :D

I ate at the Yachtsman on my last trip which was in December. My Filet was awesome however it is VERY pricey. We spent about 43 dollars a piece for a Ceasar salad among three people and we each had a steak ( only about $1.00 difference between the three entrees) My friend Karen's steak came out overdone but the wait staff was amazing and made that right for her. My Filet was perfect but be aware all the cooking is done over a wood fire so this isnt an exact science. The atmosphere as well as the service are top notch. The meal for me was pretty amazing, but it is pricey. Belle

Well, I've never eaten at YS, even though I would like to. But if you are simply looking for a great steak than may I suggest the California Grill. They have one of the best filets I have ever had. Its also around the same price as YS.

Yummmmmmmm!!

My husband and I LOVE IT!!!!! They are a bit high but the atmoshere is quiet and very romantic. We suggest you get a table by the window so you can see the lighthouse. We are also hugh fans of Le Cellier. Double Yummmmmmmmmmmm. We have been to the Concourse but found the food was o.k.. I guess the draw is the monorail. Good luck wherever you go. I have to go make dinner now (chicken:hurl: ) Oh well. We can't all have a porterhouse every night
