Yachtsman or Captains Grill?

Hi there, a little bit of advice if possible please.

We are off to WDW in May, and are sorting out our dining reservations. At present we have a booking at Captains Grill, but are wondering about changing to Yachtsman Steakhouse. Is it worth using two credits for this? :shrug:

The two are very different restaurants and your preferences are really going to make the difference here. Captains Grille is a casual restaurant offering straight forward american cuisine. Yachtsman is a signature steak house, and offers the best Disney created steak on property. However, it is hard to compare the two since they are very different in menu and price.

As the above posted stated they are 2 very different and is like comparing apples to oranges! We have never eaten at the Grill but plan to try in August. We have eaten at the Yachtsman and have and good and no so good meals there. It will really have to depend on what your looking for out of this meal.

I have never eaten at the Yachtsman but I have eat at the Captain's Grille. I, and everyone with me (all four of us), were very pleased with our meal. 3 of us had steaks and the other had the crab cakes and clam chowder. Dessert was left a little wanting though.

We ate at the Yachtsman for the first time during our summer trip and were completely blown away. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the meal was phenomenal.

Thanks for replies, I think as we are on the dining plan it would be a good chance to try the Yachtsman, it sounds good and I found some food photos on Tripadvisor which were fairly difficult to resist!

I have been to both a few times and both are good. The difference is Yachtsman serves Prime while the grille serves Choice grade. Yachtsman also ages their beef in a cooler which you can see when you walk in. The whole cuts of Prime beef are all taged and dated and hand cut, they also are delish! The Grille's steaks are good but not special like yachtsman's are, just my own opinion of course. Have fun!!

:sohappy: Great choice, Enjoy and get there early to enjoy a beverage next door @ Crews Cup before Dinner, it is a great place to unwind before you eat. Have fun!!

Oh I haven't heard about the Crews Cup, must be one of the few drinking establishments we haven't tried! We'll definately be giving that one a try in May. Thanks very much :wave:

We also hit the Crews Cup before every dinner at the Yachtsman. Very nice little bar!!!!

i second that! i ate there 3 times already, and its always an amazing experience
