Yacht Club or Boardwalk?

We will be visiting the world in April and we really want to stay in an epcot area resort. We have previously stayed at the Yacht Club and we loved it! But now we are considering staying at the boardwalk. Pros? cons?

We have stayed only one time at the Boarkwalk and that was last year. We loved it! Only thing was that my daughter (college student) loves Mickey Waffles and they did not have them there. It is beautiful and the service was wonderful. I like to boat ride to Disney Studios and across to Epcot. Had no problems with the bus service either; would definitely stay there again.

I just did this exact poll and thread about a month ago. :) So here is what we decided - we went with BC. Since we stayed at YC and loved it, lets just stay on the other side! We loved it!! We chose if over the Boardwalk b/c of the pool. The pool at Boardwalk is under refurb and when you call a cast member, they don't even know it is going on. But a friend who works there posted a very empty and refurbed pool going on about 2 weeks. So I don't know when that will be up and running again. Plus, it doesn't hold a candle to the pool at the BC/YC. Since you can walk to the Boardwalk from BC/YC, we just stayed at BC/YC! So YC/BC gets my vote!!

Also, we didn't like how the "food" was set up at BW. We like going to the market place for our drinks and snacks and food. We didn't like how it was all spread out at the BW.

We stayed at YC back in November and while I picked it b/c we'd be guaranteed a balcony/patio and we'd have access to Stormalong if we wanted pool time...I stepped into Boardwalk and immediately regretted my decision. I adored the decor in BW and was shocked at how much I liked the Luna Park area in person. So, even if we had OK service at YC (which it we didn't :(), I still would have preferred BW. Just something about it screamed "you should have stayed here!" :)

That's a tough choice because they are both such great resorts. I don't think you will go wrong with either resort but I think I would go with the Boardwalk since you have never stayed there. You already know that you love the Yacht Club, so why not try something new? I love trying out new resorts because you never know when you might find a new favorite. :D The Boardwalk has the same great location as the Yacht Club and it has a really great theme. I also really liked the decor of the Boardwalk rooms. The Boardwalk also looks really beautiful at night.

Yes- how about beach club? It's on the same "campus" so to speak as YC. But, either of those choices are great especially if you like EPCOT or DHS the best. Great transportation options as well as walking.:)

Well enjoy your stay at the Boardwalk!:) On of the great things about the boardwalk is that it being an Epcot Resort it is within walking/water taxi distance to both Epcot and DHS (2/4 WDW parks) so you only need to bus MK, AK, and any other place you wish to travel on the world property. They are really 2 great Disney Deluxe resorts. Only difference between the two is that the Boardwalk offers more spacious, upscale rooms while Yatch Club offers Stormalong Bay pool. Try to get a water view facing EPCOT/Boardwalk/BC & YC if you can too? Gotta head back down their soon.

Geez, you know for as many times as I've stayed at the EPCOT resorts (8 times) I have never tried Captain's Grille Breakfast. I guess that will give me something to try on my next trip.:) What do you recommend @tracyandalex?

It is definitely a hidden gem for both breakfast and dinner (I better stop telling folks)!
For breakfast our group had: the buffet, the citrus scented french toast, and the poached eggs, all very good. We were going to order a kid's meal, but the server told us not to since some go the buffet and DD could just eat from their plates.
For dinner we had: crab cake appetizer, pot braised mussels and clams, snow crab legs, new york strip, and kid's baked fish. We all enjoyed everything for dinner too.
