X-Men: The Last Stand

Most early reviews haven't been too great. And I'm surprised I'm not that pumped up for this film. After X2, I would have paid 50 dollars to see the 3rd right after it. I thought X2 was leaps and bounds better than the original (which I still enjoy) and those last few frames of X2 was one of the best endings ever. I'm not even a huge comic book fan, but I know the origin story of X-Men and that was very exciting.

Without giving anything away...how would you compare it to the first two?

Much more action :) , much less character development :( . Special effects were stepped up this time.

It's good, even though I'd prefer the characters had more depth. I definately wouldn't have felt cheated if I'd paid to see it.

Sounds like a Brett Ratner special to me. If he HAD to direct an X-Men movie, I'm glad it was the 3rd as opposed to the 2nd because by the 3rd, we shouldn't need as much character development as in the first two. But I agree that I usually like my action movies with more emphasis on character than action extravaganzas.

Seen it 2x's now. :)

Be prepared for more characters to not be portrayed as they are in the comics.

And as I said before, be sure to stay through the credits!

I agree, it was fantastic! I really like the new direction that the new director is taking the franchise. The SFX were great, all the acting was good, the cinematography was more interesting, and there was a lot more cool action. The scenes where Jean Grey went exorcist on everybody was bad a$$. One thing I'm happy about was that they passed on using night crawler. Personally, I didn't like his portrayal in the last movie. He just seemed too melencholy.

I had my doubts, but the new director has outdone Bryan Singer. Especially when I saw the superman trailer, it just flat out sucked. POTC2 is going to whomp that movie.

Anyways, great movie. Grade: B+

My only complaints was that it was a little too short. And why oh why ( spoilers ) did Mystique have to be in a cencored pose when she was turned human. :cry: :lol:

BTW, wow, stay until the end of the credits. Its worth it.

I saw it today, but I couldn't make it through the credits. I'll have to wait for DVD for that. I really enjoyed the film, probably more than I should have. I liked it slightly better than the first, but of course it's not nearly as good as X2. A- for me.

It was ok...I guess....I enjoyed the 2nd one a lot more...ugh....I think they kind of ruined the movie though...im sure they will make an X-Men 4....about the guy....with the wings, or the young kid. I give it a....B-

* spoiler*

I love the way they killed off the hot guy....Cyclops...:cry:

Highlight to read.

It switches to a scene in a hostpital. A patient is in a bed, where a nurse comes up to his bed. The nurse looks alot like jean. The patient in the bed says something to her ( can't remember what ), and his voice sounds an awful lot like Xavier's. The nurse says, "professor?! Oh my god..."
