My kids (18-25) are all planning on seeing it, although nobody is as excited as they were for the X-Men trilogy, and for Wolverine. There doesn't seem to be a lot of anticipation. I'm waiting for the reviews. Of course I was luke warm for Thor, and I absolutely loved it.

I actually think it should be better than X-Men 3. Im hoping this pre story does a good job of explaining how the X-Men got started; if they do a good job a new trilogy can be made.

Definitely on my list of movies to see on opening day. I think it will do very, very well. By the commercials it appears to be all we want in X-Men films. Exciting scenes, lots of characters featuring their various powers. Can't wait to see the story line and how it plays out between the rivals. Oh, and I haven't had buttered popcorn for a while so that will be a treat as well.

I'm not too thrilled with the first class lineup...not exactly comic book accurate, but I guess that's the movies for ya...From the looks of things, I;m not really expecting much out of this one...out of the 4 big Superhero movies this summer, I'm expecting this one to rank in at #4.

Still, I plan on seeing it. I see every superhero movie.

Hell yessss im going to see it!! I can not wait for it, now i hope they make a move just all about Gambit my favorite X-Men!!

Yeah, I wish they wouldve had a bigger part for Gambit in the Wolverine movie. But, if this new X-Men goes well, I think we'll se Gambit again.

I'm going at midnight tonight. I'm a huge X-Men fan, and although strongly disliking X3 and Wolverine, the early word on this is very promising. James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender are terrific actors and a truly audacious choice for the roles. I can't wait. I'll report back with my findings.

Edit:

I'm exhausted but I have to say that the film was spectacular. I always ranked X2 alongside The Dark Knight as my favorite modern superhero/comic films (not including stuff like The Incredibles, which wasn't a comic) but I truly believe First Class to be better than X2.

The characters are beautifully drawn, the plotting is intelligent, the action is exciting and filled with character and emotion, and the performances are great. Fassbender and McAvoy are legendary.

I'll update this tomorrow with more thoughts but for now I'll just say... wow.

I wasn't disappointed. It was a great way to start off the new franchise. Lets hope the next one keeps it up!

Definitely the best X-Men movie and the first half was almost as good as The Dark Knight.

I could have watched an entire movie of Magneto tracking those guys down in the beginning. It was a better "Hannibal Rising" than "Hannibal Rising" was.
