Jorge and Jessica are about the strongest people you could ever meet. Jessica didn't hide away during her pregnancy with Samuel. In fact she helped to start a new ministry at our church. A Sunday School class for special needs children who cannot be in the regular classes for various reasons. She was at church every week until Samuel was born with Jorge and their daughter Gabriella. She was there when another of our staff's wife had her first baby in spite of the fact she knew she would lose Samuel. She has been a witness to God's grace and the strength you get from a faith in Christ Jesus. Jessica is just an awesome young woman and her husband is just as awesome.

Thank you for sharing their story Lisbet.
It is an amazing one.

Well, today was an interesting day. We had a field trip to the school I did my interpreting internship. The interpreter that was my mentor is no longer there, but I saw many people that I knew. We went for the first Deaf Spelling Bee in Miami-Dade County and 5 schools were represented. 2nd and 3rd place went to 2 5th graders from our school.
It was so neat to watch our older kids pair up with the babies and be their buddies on the trip. Each of my kids sat with one of the kids from the older class on the bus going and coming back.
Two fo my kids went to the host school last year so all were excited to see them. It was really old home day as several of the kids from other schools had gone to the host school at one time or another (usually for pre-K)
Tomorrow will be busy and sad. Teach until 2pm, then go to help my friend who is deaf-blind register her son for kindergarten, then to church for the Memorial Service, Choir and then Deaf Bible Study.
Friday I find out if I continue to sub to the end of the year or not with this class. The teacher goes to the doctor and he will decide whether she can return to school. If she does return I will let the other school I sub for know I am available if they need me. Or I may just volunteer in her classroom until the end of the year. I know I will be going to the kindergarden graduation on May 24. Just can't miss that.

FYI, for all the people who (sometimes correctly) believe Connor's finally cracked (more so), that quote was from the Simpsons.
