Thanks Dot and Bonny for the Hug.. Good night Dot.....
Well, I can do it if I want to, and I can also gain some support for the comparison. Both are mind altering substances, much more-so than most other material. Both can lead to problems down the road. Both impair basic motor skills, etc, etc, etc...Dukeblue1016 said:You really cannot compare cocaine or LSD to alcohol...
Joe said:a) I'm 21 so alcohol isn't illegal for me anyways,
I'm sure you could go to any AA meeting and find testimony to alcohol's ability to addic... I am not imply that all who drink should be scolded, nor an I promoting a second prohibition, but I question the direction our culture has begun to take.Joe said:b) if you don't abuse alcohol (which I don't, never will... haven't drank in several weeks because the work picked up and its time to get serious), it is not going to be as bad as the said cocaine or LSD is... Drugs are illegal for a reason... and are much much more serious
Even if it was, "cool" is often overrated.Joe said:I'm not saying alcohol is good for you... or is "cool"...
Call me hard-headed, but I've set morals for myself, and I'll speak up about them...Joe said:so I'm glad someone like conor who is well under the age has such a strong opinion against it...
Ah, and there is the point! I will not deny it is part of society, I question whether it should be!Joe said:Alcohol, unfortunately, is a part of society
I've heard of the book, but was not aware of the moive.Joe said:if you've never seen Requiem for a Dream... I HIGHLY reccommend it, its a FANTASTIC movie, and will really get you anti-drugs if you aren't (i imagine everyone here is), but its strong. Honestly Conor, I think I saw somewhere you said you're 16... not that you aren't old enough, but it is R and it is very very strong movie... I laid in bed for like an hour the first time I saw it just like "ohhhhhh my god..." It's heavy, may wanna wait a few years... but it is an AWESOME movie... difficult to watch as I said...
A bit younger, actually.Dukeblue1016 said:Honestly Conor, I think I saw somewhere you said you're 16...

However, I no longer mention my age, because apparently it voids my credibility...
It is so.maggiegrace1 said:You are apparently a very smart and mature person....
Well, some might say I only pick on those I enjoy... or maybe I just despise you.You said:and you do like me

From what I understand, the Grad Nite fireworks show is the old Fantasy in the Sky show. I saw it last year. The fireworks are accompanied by the popular music of today.MommytoMJM said:I just drove down the street and watched a close view of the GradNite frieworks, they were AWESOME.
