My brother always thought that The McCoys were singing "Hang on Snoopy"...ala Peanuts...rather than "Hang on Sloopy."

BTW, one of the band members ended up being an OR tech in the hospital where my husband used to have his practice.

For the longest time, I thought Stevie Nicks was singing, "Just like a one winged dove, rather than "a white winged dove." I guess I thought it was flying around in cricles.

"Hang On Sloopy"
by The McCoys

1965

(Chorus)

Hang on Sloopy, Sloopy hang on
Hang on Sloopy, Sloopy hang on

Sloopy lives in a very bad part of town
And everybody yeah, tries to put my Sloopy down
Well, Sloopy I don't care what your daddy do
Cause' you know Sloopy girl I'm in love with you

And so I say now

(Chorus)

Hang on Sloopy, Sloopy hang on
Hang on Sloopy, Sloopy hang on

Sloopy let your hair down girl, let it hang down on me
Sloopy let your hair down girl ,let it hang down on me

Come on Sloopy, Come on Sloopy
Come on, come on
Come on Sloopy, Come on Sloopy
Come on, Come on

Well it feels so good
Come on, Come on
You know it feels so good
Come on, Come on

Well, Shake it, Shake it, Shake it Sloopy

Come on, Come on

Well, Shake it, Shake it, Shake it Yeah

Come on, Come on

(Chorus)

Hang on Sloopy, Sloopy hang on
Hang on Sloopy, Sloopy hang on

Although I suppose "Snoopy" would be good name for this character since she is a girl! *runs for cover*

In the song "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None the Richer I thought "silver moon sparkling" was "Sailor Moon Sparkling".

In the song "Underneath your Clothes" I thought the line "being such a good girl" was "Steve is such a good girl!" Another line in the song I heard as "underneath your clothes there's a scary story......."

How do you do?
Mighty pleasant greetin'
How do you do?
Say it when you're meetin'
How do you do?
With every one repeatin'
Pretty good sure as you're born.

What goes up is sure to come down.
A penny lost is a penny found.
How do you do?
And here's a hearty back
A little bit of this and a little bit of that.

How do you do?
Fine. How are you?
How you come on?
Pretty good sure as you're born.

Stop jumpin' around,
You'll run out of breath!
Why don't you sit back
And calm yourself?

You can hurry on now if you must.
We'll do what we like, 'cause...
That suits us.

SOLO (by Thurl Ravenscroft):
How do you do?
Mighty pleasant greetin'.
Pretty good sure as you're born.
Pretty good sure as you're born.
How do you do?
Mighty pleasant greetin'
How do you do?
Say it when you're meetin'
How do you do?
With every one repeatin'
Pretty good sure as you're born.
Pretty good sure as you're born.

The weather is good,
The fishin' is fine.
What do we do
With all of our time?

Well we sit and we think
and we wiggle our toes.
That's what you ask us.
That's what we know!

Pretty good sure as you're born.
Pretty good sure as you're born.

How do you do?
Fine. How are you?
How you come on?
Pretty good sure as you're born.
Pretty good sure as you're born.
Pretty good sure as you're born.

Time to be turning around.
Time to be turning around.
Here's lookin' for
A little more adventure.
But he's headed for
A little bit of trouble.
He's headed for
A little bit of danger.

Time to be turning around.
Time to be turning around.
Time to be turning around.Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, Zip-a-dee-ay!
My oh my, what a wonderful day!

Welcoming back Brer Rabbit today.
We always knew that he'd get away!

you mean its not "SHOW US YOUR BONE"

Mallory, my 6 year old, thought the words to toby keith's "I love this bar" were "I love this barn" Then she figured it out, and she asked if it was like the bar at ballet class!

I used to think that the words to Jingle Bells were "making spirits cry" :hammer:

The song "I'm Your Venus," when my little brother was about 2 he used to sing "I'm your ." My sister and I who were 10 and 8, respectively, used to think it was sooo funny. But my mom used to get very embarassed and would yell at him about it.

Heres one
Elton John- Tiny Dancer

"hold me closer Tony Danza"

I knew the words, and I don't know if this was just a joke or if there is someone out there who really thought this:lol:
