Disney's Wreck-It Ralph has earned over $200 million worldwide already (it still has a lot of countries to open in through March, 2013), and it sounds like the studio has already started talking about a sequel.

Both John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman told Moviehole that they expect a sequel will happen. "Some of the big muckety-muckets at the studio, who I just saw the other night, were like 'We're talking sequel!'" Reilly said.

Director Rich Moore is also confident we'll be seeing another Wreck-It Ralph adventure and for the next film, he wants to include Nintendo's Mario. Moore told the site that Mario wasn't in the first movie because they couldn't find anywhere for him to go, not because Nintendo refused them.

"We'll really come up with something good for Mario to do [in the next film]," said Moore. "To be able to present him in the sequel, would be great."

That movie doesn't need a sequel, does it? If a sequel is coming, Mario would be more interesting than Q-bert!

I thought Wreck it Ralph had a good story that was complete by film's end but since it made money, a sequel is inevitable...and not necessarily a bad thing. Toy Story did well with a second and third film, but that is the exception and not the rule, seems to me.

I agree, I really don't think it needs a sequal, but don't all Disney movies that are popular get a sequal? :P

Well it sounds like this is a theatrical sequel. We all know how many direct-to-home-video sequels they churned out for everything up until Lasseter came on board, but how many theatrical sequels have there been? Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros? Fantasia and Fantasia 2000?

Disney theatrical sequels as compared to Pixar sequels? Not many - add the Rescuers.

The Incredibles is a good example of a Pixar film that made a ton of money and no sequel yet. Emphasis on " yet." Right?

The only problem is that Brad Bird is too popular right now, and I don't know if Pixar would let anyone else go forward with Incredibles 2. I guess the best way would be to root for 1952 to fail? It might have worked for Andrew Stanton and John Carter and Finding Nemo 2?

As much as I absolutely loved the film, I personally don't want to see a sequel. I like it when Disney animation classics remain classic stand alone films. The Toy Story franchise is the only time I've seen animated sequels work just as well if not better than the original. How about a Wreck it Ralph spin off?
