While at the Grand Floridian today I noticed monorail orange paused at the station. It was at the express side. The act in itself did not catch my attention but how shiny and clean monorail orange was did! Aside from a little bit of grime at the very underside of the fins, she looked almost brand-new! You can literally see a reflection in the paint. It was not just the nose cone it was the entire train. Even the grey connector coverings inbetween the cars, which I failed to get a picture of, looked great . All the panels were the same shade of white.

I'm probably in the minority, but I really wish WDW would paint each monorail completely in their corresponding color. Like make orange completely orange, make blue completely blue, etc. instead of just the line colors. When we went to Disneyland last year I was really impressed with how their monorails looked in full color.

The orange monorail does look great though.

Agreed with this. I'd have liked to see them painted the full color.

I think it looks great. Glad to see they painted it. They have been long overdue for this.

ugh... god no. :hungover:

I gotta completely disagree on this one. I like the understated, classy look. Not everything has to be bold and in your face.

Monorail orange recently got repainted/refreshed. It's been backstage for a while (a few weeks maybe). It looks good!
Actually, more like a few months. The paint is fully redone, the bellows (things between the cars) are brand new, and every single A/C in the train has been replaced. Blue was the first one with the repaint, but didn't go through as much. Just got the paint and bellows. Every train is going to go through this process over the next few years as the process is time consuming. Eventually they will cycle back and get the interiors refreshed.

Why are people being so complimentary? This is how all the monorails are supposed to look every. single. day. Just goes to show how little Disney actually cares about them. Enjoy Monorail Orange as much as you can as isn't going to look like that for long.
Are they being complimentary or are they expressing UNexpectant yet pleasantly surprised? Me, I am squarely in the latter camp. I have previously express that I think TDO was letting the WDW monorail system die. This runs counter to that argument. It is the result of weeks of work on the train. I doubt the effort will be limited to just once train. I don't think they would approve a project to spruce up ONE train so I suspect this will happen to all the trains. At a distance as Blue passed Peach on the Epcot Line, Blue looked much better. I was moving, they were moving, so it was hard to say for sure but the connection covers on Blue were clearly in better condition.

People are complimenting because Disney took the initiative to spruce up the exterior. Not everyone is consumed with the desire to criticise like you, apparently.
Yes, one out of twelve. The other eleven are still filthy. Disney magic right there. I willl save my compliments until the day all of the trains look that good inside and out and stay that way permanently through frequent maintence. Something that appears to be lacking. Orange may look good now but when is it scheduled for another spruce up? a year from now? two years? five years? It won't look that good a few months from now that's for sure.

If you actually cared enough you would be criticising too, by complaining things get done and improvements are made.
