the saddest part is many people will just whip out their credit card and chant YOLO as they go deeper in debt and prices just go higher and higher. Seems like too many people are willing to pay any price to get what they want and worry about the consequences later.
It is the excuse, I have no or little money for retirement or didn't plan for it.

Those prices my seem insane but apparently people are willing to pay it. In the fall of 2019 Paul McCartney gave a concert here in our arena. The prices ranged from $35 (which I assume was across the road from the venue at a McDonalds) (burgers not included) to $3500 each for the first 20 rows. I am a huge fan of the Beatles but, really? Three grand to listen to a 78 year old voice crack its way through a number of fondly remembered songs. Not a chance!

What I will do is what I did last week. I bought tickets for one of the best Beatles Tribute Bands I've ever heard. Costumes, live playing and music that could be a record of the originals. Even a left handed base player with a youthful voice. Don't get me wrong it would be nice to have seen Paul, but I was not a fan of the individuals, although I did admire their talents and abilities, but the music was what I was hooked on. I saw a different playlist show by them a couple of years ago and if you had your eyes closed you would not have known they weren't the real thing. The tickets I bought were $85 per person including insurance in case we or they couldn't make it for some reason.

It would have made me cry to hear that once magnificent voice crack its way through Yesterday. I admire those that keep trying as long as they can, but am concerned when those same greats cannot realize when it is time to stop and just enjoy their fame.

I live near Nashville and love the fact that there are many live bands playing all over the place, I enjoy catching a live act of an up an comer. But I quit going to concerts a couple of years ago(decades ago) when the prices started to triple what the album cost. Since then I have gone back on my decision twice and went to see Jimmy Buffet. But hey that's more of an event than a concert.

Concerts are where almost all of my"extra" money goes! I've been to tons over the last half decade and don't bat an eye at paying the 'high prices'. For example, I saw Celine Dion in Miami last January and paid $177, then the next night I paid $100 for Cirque's Alegria: In a New Light; both events were the aisle seat. The most expensive concert I've ever attended, though, was Madonna's Madame X Tour in Miami. For two tickets, I paid $815 for center aisle in the orchestra of the theatre. I'm currently saving money for a trip to Vegas to see some shows out there and, again, will gladly fork over the money.
