I voted "no", simply b/c those Tim Burton movies creep me out :lookaroun
Seems like a decent idea around Halloween though, but I'm not a BIG Halloween person (internal conflicts as a Christian) so I have to wonder just how popular it could be. Might be better if it was included as regular admission, not separately ticketed.

I don't trust this poll...Disney won't either.

Disney Villans = Lots of Money
NBC = A little money and evident cancellation.

I think Disney knows this. I'm sure this is just a rumor. How many NBC people really go to WDW anyways? Aren't most of them too busy smelling incense and watching their own eyes dialate?

Is there a big difference between scary costumes and dark fast rollercoasters?

Yes, but I'm not sure what you're asking, Are u asking why I'm creeped out by NBC and not by rollercoasters? Or r u asking why I have problems with Halloween from a Christian standpoint and no problems with roller coasters?

No, Tim Burton scares me I turned the corpse bride off in the middle b/c I found it so frigeting and I like scary movies. So I vote no we need to seperate ourselves from DL we are two seperate entites and should be that way so hence no link NBC:hurl:

I really like NBC. I would like to see it more in the parks. im not sure if a ticketed event would do the trick though. like ive said earlier, i would prefer an attraction or maybe even a show. they could use the old hunchback theater, or maybe even just take over B&B for a short time around halloween. i dont know what goes on at PI around halloween but maybe they could have the event there. that way its kept away from the kids who may not be familiar with it or be too scared by it, and it doesnt take away time that people would like to enjoy in the parks. you could basically have a bunch of villains around, some cool themeing and maybe those attending could wear there own costumes. but again id rather see a ride.

I dont really get all the hoopla over this NMBC stuff. Its not very disney like and not only that the dude doesnt even have any internal organs. And its at least 15 years old now and they have plenty of more current movies tha would be better suited. I dont know that any kid under 18 would even know what nightmare is. I would say unless its supposed to be during halloween they should have a valentines themed event in februrary. With all the famous disney couples, and have romantic themed rides...i always thought they needed a tunnel of love at one of the parks.......

There are plenty of kids over the age of 10 (when the demographic for this event would be 13+ year olds) that know of NBC and a very good amount of those kids enjoy the movie. Many of those that enjoy buy large amounts of merchandise for NBC. The event would be a hit if it was marketed correctly, and featured something that we haven't seen before.

I could frankly see a version of HMH coming just for the time that this event happens and at night, have a firworks show with the music from the movie and a Nightmare-parade. Then, use the Fantasmic stage for a special show themed to NBC and use the soundstages as haunted houses. It isn't like MGM doesn't have the available space for any of it. (They were using the soundstages during Star Wars Weekends this year to sell SW merchandise and take Green-screen photos in front of an X-Wing Fighter).

In my eyes you weren't. I think Jimbo was just being silly, or he wanted avoid a political discussion.

Soooo...why is everyone being so willing to devote a ride, a fireworks show, a hard ticket event, and a parade to a non-Disney classic but complain about Pixar attractions...:hammer: :brick: I just don't get it. NBC may have a large following, but Pixar and the Disney Villains have ones that would dwarf it!

You're right. It doesn't make sense. Plus, NBC has more of a "cult" following than a huge fanbase such as Pixar.

I personally don't think the demographic of the majority of WDW guests would see an NBC overlay as a reason for visiting. Hard ticket events are supposed to motivate people to visit at a time when they normally would not. I'm not sure the motivation would be there for NBC.

It was me, I was being political -- very stupidly... sorry. It has nothing to do with the topic. Carry on.

True, I'd rather have summer pixar nights... or something along those lines in MGM for a hard ticket. Once the Monsters/Incredibles/midwaymadness, honey i shrunk the CARS advenure park, and 3rd nemo attraction open... MGM will be ripe for it.

So far the poll show 50% said they would go and another 20+% might, I think Disney can see the $$$$ already.

No, not at all, because Disney Fan Boards do NOT show a representative sampling of even the smallest percentage of people who visit WDW. Disney does NOT look at boards like these in order to determine policy, doing so would be foolhardy at best, disastrous at worst. If Disney decides to go ahead with an NBC hard ticket event, it will not be because the "Fans" on the boards wanted it, it would be because the general public(the ones who DON'T obsess about WDW) wants it, and would be willing to pay for it...
To put it more bluntly, Disney already has our money, they want the bigger pie

Great post -- and that's the real question. Will the month long Brit couple go? Or the family w/2 preschool kids in oct? Or the post summer wedding couple? Or the local that doesn't get enough extra hard ticket events already? Will it actually make people say "that makes me want to go to WDW"? The feedback seemes to be -- THAT SOUNDS COOL -- SURE. Or an empatic "Do something better". Not really even a no. The real breakdown would be -- would you like something better than NBC hard ticket?

Sounds almost like another Summer Nights event at another *unnamed* theme park in Tampa... :lookaroun

Honey I Shrunk the Cars? Thats a good one!

I don't think I can handle a third Nemo attraction in WDW...:lookaroun

Midway Mania could be good if done right. The patents look nicer than the technology though. The so-called "X-Ray" guns just shine light on a front layer of the walls and scenery to reveal a back layer of scenery. Its sure to be a nice experience for everyone, as long as the technology is used right.

er....there are already three....The next would be a fourth:lol:

If you are referring to Turtle Talk- most of us consider the Living Seas to be one big Nemo attraction now.

  1. TLS
  2. Nemo-musical
  3. Other?
That makes three.

Would you pay for a NMBC ticketed event at the MGM Studios? How much would you pay? What would persuade you to plan a visit to the Studios just for this ticketed event?

This is all hypothetical at the moment, but we might see this event soon, so I am curious to know what you all think about it...

1. No I wouldn't pay to go. Not much of an NBC fan.

2. What are your sources for this hypothetical event? You can't write that it is hypothetical and in the same sentence also write "but we may see this event soon".
