Would you go out of your way to eat a CS meal at a Resort?

We stayed at OKW last year which is desperately lacking in the CS department and tried many other resorts. We always make a point of visiting Mara at AKL and also love Roaring Forks at WL - new discoveries include Contempo Cafe and Riverisde Mill at POR, I loved their design your own pasta.

We love Roaring Forks as well. Captain Cookes is our other fav and very upset its going to be all changed out again, liked it as it is, I wish they would leave things alone sometimes.
We loathe the foodcourt at Dixie Landings, (excuse me I mean port orleans riverside ), but with that being said its actually a great large space to go and relax for a snack in ther afternoon. Havent been to the one in the french quarter in years. Maybe we should try it again.

Roaring Forks is awesome. We stayed at WL last November and went there a couple times. They have great breakfast and lunch options, and it doesn't have the same mass produced feel you get from QS in the parks sometimes.

Haven't gone out of my way just for CS food. But I will make the detour on my way elsewhere if needed. Some of them have some great unique food, like some of the stuff at The Mara, but not worth killing 45 mins - an hour of my day for.

The first trip I took with my then-GF-now-wife, we were staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. It had been awhile since I had been back, so far back that Port Orleans Riverside was still Dixie Landings, which is where I had stayed. At the tie DL had hands down the best fried chicken I had ever tried. I used to dream about that fried chicken and I don't even really eat fried chicken all that much since I became a mature responsible grownup  But Slapette acquiesced to my desire to go back to relive that tasty memory. Of course, they stopped serving that fried chicken and instead had the same sort of bland chicken tenders every resort and park eatery that serves "fried chicken"

So...no. Not really. Closest we came to that was our last trip, on check out day. We purchased the Deluxe Dining Plan and were leaving with 2 meals each to consume. As we were driving, we decided that, instead of leaving right away and having to pay for lunch and dinner on the road anyway, we'd spend that money getting a hotel in the DtD area for a nap, eat a CS lunch before the nap and get a TS dinner before driving overnight. So we went to Artists' Palette at Saratoga Springs, napped at the Doubletree Suites, and then had dinner at The Wave. AP is nothing to write home about, we probably should have gone to Wolfgang Puck Express, but that's how things shook out.

I have left DHS a time or two just to get a bite to eat at many of the restaurants in the Crescent Lake resorts not to mention i have also gone out of my way to eat at the Cabana Bar and Beach Club. I really like the Mara so sometimes I will catch a bus or drive over to AKL from DAK for a meal.

Not for counter service but for table service venues I have. In particular we really like the ability to hit places like the wave, kona, or gf cafe for lunch when we go in the summers. It gives us a break from the heat and we eat a little later so we can often avoid the afternoon rains that way.
