My Mom told me that on the day I was born the Delivery Room was 105 degrees.
Note: For you younger people AC wasn't everywhere back then.
I've despised the heat ever since.
We visit the South Eastern States to be with Family, not because we enjoy the climate.
Since WDW is in the middle of the country's largest sauna I have no desire to work there.
Those that do have my admiration for putting up with the heat, humidity, and rude guests. :D

As I have already worked in the Theme Park Industry...I say no....Due to the real reality & drama behind a wall where normal guests do not see and chances are right now you'd be lucky to get 40 hours now thanks to Shanghai...

Absolutely! I've kinda said this for a while now. I would 100% love to move down there and become a cast member. I want at least 1 opportunity to work in the parks. I really don't think it would matter to me what I did. Bus driver, photographer, entry... I just want to be working in the World at some point.

I wouldnt want to work the resorts. I'd probably enjoy working EP. I'd never want to toil in the humid AK, DHS might interest me depending on how SW turns out. But I'd definitely not want to work MK. I'd like to save that park entirely for my total personal enjoyment.

Rather than WORK for Disney, I'll just buy an annual pass and show up with my little broom and dust bucket everyday. I've always wanted to be a street sweeper at Disney. Then the company couldn't tell me what to do and I'd just stroll around all day, sweeping up every now and then. If you think about it, if Disney started offering free passes to elderly citizens in exchange for monitoring a section of the park, the parks would be spotless!

Drove the ferry and resort boats during college and would love to do it again when I retire!

This has been my plan for the past 10 years or so - to retire (in another 5 years), move from Dallas to Orlando, and drive boats for Disney. I don't know if I'd end up with the Magic Kingdom fleet or driving a friendship in Epcot or between Epcot and DHS. I'd not be doing it for money, but just to get out of the house for a few hours. I've talked to several people on the boat crews, and it seems like there are two main demographics - college kids and retired people. That's PERFECT for me!

Edited to add - I'm really surprised by how many people here want to drive boats when they retire. I think they offer 18 hours a week for part-time people, which again would be perfect.

I voted no, because by the time I get close to retirement age, there will be no chance of me being able to operate a monorail. By then, it would be all automated. :(

It was the best job! If it paid more I would have done it full time. And yes it was all college kids and retirees.
I liked MK because there was variety in the different boats and I just can't stand the slow moving friendships.
Now I do have to say the morning was much more pleasent because everyone was excited for the day. Night was a little stressful because people were ready to go home and had no patience.

Security Host : I'm sorry, you can't bring your selfie stick in here.
@MississippiBelle : It's a broom. I'm going to keep the park tidy
Security Host : Sorry, it looks like a selfie stick that can also be used for cleaning, please leave it outside.

I would love to be a greeter at one of the resorts when I get to that age. Welcoming people to their home away from home would be a nice way to spend my time. "Have a Magical day!" (said while wearing a straw hat, lei or other festive attire.)

I initially said Yes! maybe working at BBB since I'm a hairstylist, but then I remembered I'm not a kid friendly stylist. I changed my mind... Animal Kingdom working with the animals only is a better fit

It's always been my dream to work for Disney.. Until recently. I've been oblivious about guest behavior towards cast member until now. And my recent trips, I've been saying "I'm glad I'm not those cast members."

However... Being raised in a touring theatre family all my life, I might change my mind if I was in one of their musicals like finding nemo, or frozen over at Disneyland . Sad thing about that is there's like only those two shows that are normal Broadway-style musicals that don't require character suits/acrobatics d:

Since I'm on the west coast, I would love to be a face character Jedi over in star wars land at Disneyland. If not that I could be a jungle cruise skipper. No way I would move to Florida and the heat.
