Would Disney ever revive cancelled projects?

i was referring to a straight implementation of a cancelled project. I.E. if Beastly Kingdom was added to animal kingdom today as a whole. which i don't believe they would, but i can dream...

All projects get revised and changed. Had Beastly Kingdom continued it would not have remained the same as its last iteration.

I wish they'd put the Epcot Gemini project back on the board... at least in some form. I think moreso than any other cancelled project, WDW really needed Gemini to become a reality and suffered without it.

:jawdrop: The landscaping and shade would be nice, but not the attractions (although the big new attraction was deemed impractical).

to replace spaceship earth would be a tragedy. Growing up and even know i absolutely adore the ride and i think it has become timeless to Epcot. If they took out the ride in place of a roller coaster Rome wouldn't be the only place in Disney burning ;)

They totally could, but would they is a different question. It would depend on why it was cancelled in the first place. Was it approved and then funding needed to be shifted? In that case sure, money gets freed up, and they may move ahead. But if we were say talking about making over an existing boat ride with the latest popular movie in the princess franchise. And that was cancelled for whatever reason. Well, 5 years from now that princess franchise may not be popular. So they may redo it with the current hot trend. Or decide to replace an old model audioanimatronic with the latest version. Or replace a film projector with HD. So while its possible, there are plenty of things that would probably be changed and updated. They would want it to match current corporate/theme park strategy, even if that strategy is to run them into the ground.

I think Avatar IS the new Beastly Kingdom.

Disney technically did do this for the Country Bears...

Country Bear Jamboree was originally for a ski resort which was, and then revived for Magic Kingdom.
Mineral King was not dead by the time work on the Magic Kingdom started, so the Country Bear Jamboree was more just built at the Magic Kingdom first.

From what I've read Beastly Kingdom was cancelled due to budget issues. And then much of the original ideas for it can now be seen in IoA. But at this point, I believe Avatarland is being built in the space it would've gone in :(

To what extent was Merlinwood at Islands of Adventure the new (old?) Beastlie Kingdomme?

Dragon Tower that was to be in Beastly Kingdomme was to be the E-Ticket for the section..

But, After Eisner Fired many imagineers...They decided to go to that other park across the way to make...Dueling Dragons...

But, I would have liked to have seen the Excavator Coaster for Dinoland..

I wonder if they kept those two giant statues or destroyed them.. They are very impressive!

The really impressive part of Dueling Dragons was the queue. One of my favorite queues I've been through. I was disappointed to see some of the best parts of it replaced for the new "Dragon Challenge".

On another note, it's always interesting to see how poorly "Dragon Challenge" is doing in the new area. What once used to be the biggest draw for the back of the park now rarely has a line over 10 minutes, for some reason. Is there a chance they scrap the ride in favor of a huge expansion to Harry Potter?
