Would building Cars Land in DHS have fixed things?

Should Cars Land have been built in DHS, instead of what's currently happening now?

Or they could've moved Cars to replace Tomorrowland raceway.... make it less 'frontier themed' and more Futuristic themed and it would solve a few issues. The issue of the gas powered cars and the pollution, the issue of the flooding there..etc. I just can't imagine what a mess the Haunted Mansion/Liberty Square area will look like with ROA and the boat paved over for Cars.

I think Cars in the Magic Kingdom would have been welcomed with open arms had it been built either

A. In fantasyland/tomorrowland as a replacement for the Speedway (though only the queue/loading area would be inside the park itself while the main ride would have been east of Storybook Circus thanks to Tron), or

B. Built northwest of Big Thunder, on the other side of the train tracks.

From my understanding, TSI was on the chopping block for very similar reasons as pulling Song Of The South from Splash Mtn, and the original Natives scene from Pan. Certain words and phrases used in the Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn novels of racial nature which are problematic today, and Disney wanting to step far away from those elements. While it would have been simpler and cheaper for Disney to just change the name of the island to Frontier Island, Wilderness Isle, or similar, and only remove any references to the Tom and Huck stories, it would have been an unnecessary cost if there were bigger plans down the line to gut all of it with something more profitable.

Camp Minnie-Mickey and Pocahontas.

“Just around the river bend” and all…

For me, it's all about the theming. Cars Land would have been a perfect extension, aesthetically, of the Hollywood architecture in HS. TSI could and should have been replaced with something thematically appropriate to the surrounding lands.
I like keeping certain theming together. I think Cars Land would have gone better with the Pixar area. HS needs some more rides that take up capacity. when they lost the Great Amer Movie ride that was a lot of capacity thrust onto the other attractions. the M&M railroad does not do that. Wait times in HS are always so long

I've always said it would have been much better to replace Echo Lake/Indiana Jones/parking lot behind it with Galaxy's Edge so Star Tours could fit, Cars Land where Galaxy's Edge is now, Toy Story Land where it currently sits, and Monsters Inc in Animation Courtyard, leading to RRC. No dead ends. And if Muppets was replaced by Star Wars or Cars, then move Muppet Vision to the Sunset Showcase building.

Tell me that isn't a perfect Disney's Hollywood Studios. Would be far much better than what we have now and space out the crowds a heck of a lot better.

I attached an image I found online that pretty much visualizes what I'm saying, except for Monsters Inc. taking over Animation Courtyard.

You're right -- HS has had a huge capacity problem as long as my family has been visiting. Another reason why MK doesn't "need" Cars Land, as the MK already has the highest number of rides.

With the caveat being that I'm forced to shoehorn Movie IP into anything/everything new, then I pretty much agree with you. However, I would have liked to have seen MMRR in Animation Courtyard, and to have figured something out with GMR.

As for MK, again with the caveat that it has to be Movie IP, I would have rather them repurpose Splash as a Moana attraction and creatively integrate that into Adventureland. Then, the TSI reimagining could have been more New Orleans Square themed and included a Tiana attraction.

I definitely think Cars in HS would have been a way better idea for a number of reasons. The first is that the Studios DESPERATELY needs more attractions. Like right now, if not yesterday. MK doesnt have that issue so just in terms of spreading out attractions to even out crowds, that works nicely. I wouldnt object to a Cars land in MK behind TBA and BTM but not in front of it destroying the aesthetics of the area. TSI can definitely use an update but a play area/ a more quiet location for families would have been ideal instead of bull dozing it. A simple QS location on there might be good as well, nothing fancy. Beverages, some food items and a nice picnic type of area would have worked well. Putting the Cars attraction in front of TBA and BTM is going to kill the whole vibe of the area. Marie

Here's my thoughts...
#1- CARS LAND attraction DOES NOT belong in MAGIC Kingdom! PERIOD!
Everyone is saying Frontierland won't be anymore once CARS is up and running. If they are building CARS mountain, why cant the Imagineers build the Frontierland side to have other new Frontierland shops embedded in the base of the mountain and themed so that side of the mountain is themed to the West?
#2- There is talk that Frontierland is SLOWLY disappearing. The removal of the sign as you enter from Liberty Square was taken down. Maybe for refurbishment? BUT the concern grew even more when the Frontierland sign was taken down entering from Adventureland! Something is happening, they just haven't said. Could it be a retheming of Frontierland into New Orleans to tie in better with Tiania's Bayou?
#3- Once Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island are gone, I just wonder how soon Liberty Square will have until its reimagined? I know at this point everything in our country is political, and The Hall of Presidents is the next big change I think we'll see. I think the SHOW should be scrapped and the auditorium area be transformed into the Hall of Presidents that has become a walkthrough attraction. Each President will be in their own display case with a plaque that states their highlights of their Presidency. This way it decreases the political aspect some. But again, the HoP doesn't make money for Disney, so I am gonna say that The Hall of Presidents is a ticking timebomb and the end is coming sometime!
