Would an annual pass be worth it?

Trying to figure out if buying an annual pass would be worth it. My family and I live in NY. We make it down to WDW every year. Thinking of maybe trying for twice over the next 12 months. What type of discounts on rooms and such if any do annual pass holders get?

I see there is an offer right now Cool Summer Offer but since I'm not a pass holder I can't see the details. I haven't booked this years trip yet, some family issues keeping us in limbo. I am curious though if it would be worth it for me to buy the annual passes for this trip and have them for the next since I'd have to buy tickets anyway.

Pretty sure if I bought an AP at guest services today, but didn't enter til next week, it still kicks off today. Or did this change recently?

I don't believe anything has changed.

We bought our AP's online in Feb 2014 - went to DTD to collect them on 5/28. Went to a park on 5/29, and thus our expiration date is 5/29/15.

As it was explained to me over the phone, park entry.

This is from all ears...

The following places will sell you an activated AP/PAP. No exchanging required:

  • - Any WDW major park ticket window
  • - Guest Relations at the major parks, water parks or at Downtown Disney and West Side (vouchers available on request only)
AP/PAP's can also be put on "will call" at no additional charge when ordered through the web site, 407-WDISNEY or DVC Member Services.

As I understand it, if you physically purchase an AP at WDW, it comes to you activated.

If you get it via any other method (eg online, Disney store, etc) it will not activate until first use.
