Worst Show at a theme park

I really don't like USF's Wild Wild Wild West Stunt Show, the stunts are mediocre compared to Indiana at MGM and they rely way too much on explosions which aren't that impressive. You want good explosions, you gotta go see Indiana.

The sad thing about the Wild Wild Wild West Stunt Show is that it USED to be great. But for years they've been relying on the same lame jokes and slapstick. They have such huge potential to update it. Indiana is the best!

Bairstow's Batman

Yep, totally different show. Well, except for the Batmobile/go cart.
We have the same deal in SFNE. Plus they have a Bat Dirtbike. Your area, especially with the green river, sounds a lot of cooler, though. The DC Comics area at SFNE has a long stairway leading down to a small "town area" with one story buildings looking something out of Max Fleischer's Superman, and it comes with a super-small version of the Daily Planet. At the back of the park is the Superman:Ride of Steel. Off to the left is the Batwing, a 360 inverted flying ride, and several mini attractions past the town square including Poison Ivy's twisted train and a horrible "Joker" wildcard (read: Carnival) ride. It looks like something out of a fair.

The stadium has no real dressing except for the gothic cloaked statues at the entrace.

The new Batman: Dark KNight is nice, but its at the far corner of the park rather than in the DC area, and its only theming is a purple station and small Batman logo courtyard (featuring the gothic cloaked figures again, plus some cutout signs and bios of the villians.)

You're not alone Rob! none of my family really liked it all that much. (mgm's that is) to me, the coolest part was all the fire on the water near the end.

American Adventure for example, theres a severe risk of sacharine overdose when your in that theatre.:hurl:
Nothing like a bit opf controversy to grab attention Ehh Rob.....:)

i don't get it...how can anybody NOT like AA? that show never gets old to me, i love it! but hey, each to his own, right? (has anybody else noticed that that has really become the motto for this board? ) personally, i find AA to be a lot more interesting than the 360's! so, to me, AA is one of the best shows Epcot has!

The "Worst Show" was "The Little Mermaid" show at the end of December. It was not a bad show, it was just half its normal length. :( We have seen this show many times and were shocked at all they left out.

It was not a bad show (there are no bad shows at Walt Disney World :D ) it was just disappointing.:(

We went again in April and it was back to the normal length:sohappy: .

See you all at the Rose and Crown on Dec. 31st.

This kind of stuff is exactly why I love this board. My handy guidebook says the exact opposite - that the WWW West show is much more entertaining than Indiana. How could a great character like Indiana *not* be entertaining?

Well...I love Fantasmic!...and every show I've ever been to is sold out...but...you are entitled to your own opinion. I, personally, think the Batman "Thrill" Spectacular at Six Flags Darien Lake is the most painful show to watch ever made...it's so bad. For some reason they didn't get the rights to play the REAL Batman theme during this show....instead, there is this generic Batman-like theme playing throughout...and the first time I saw it, Batman got stuck in the Batmobile...he couldn't unlatch the roof. Why does Six Flags even try...

I second the notion. I love Fantasmic.

It seems like the DC comics area of SFNE had some ideas copied from SF DL. Both parks have a Superman: Ride of Steel (albeit both slighlty different), both parks have the "Thrill Spectacular". Does Darien Lake have the DC comics area with a one story "Daily Planet" by any chance? And how bout that Joker's Wildcard and BatWing?

I know that all six flags have many copies of rides, but I want to see if ours is an (almost) direct copy.

Look up for my detailed description of the Georgia Six Flags Gotham City area.

In addition to the Gotham City, there is a Superman area on the exact opposite side of the park that surrounds Superman: Ultimate Flight. There's really nothing there except for the coaster itself and the HUGE outdoor queue area, which is very lightly themed as "Metropolis City Park" which is just a grassy hill leading up to the coaster with a few cutouts of the Superman comic characters sprinkled sparsely along the sides. Below the hill is an enourmous open paved area lined with lockers, benches, one small drink cart (w/ $2.75 bottles of water, despicable when you consider that there's no water fountains ANYWHERE) and little else. In some places in the grassy park/hill thing you can see where reeds and cattails are growing out of the manicured lawn, remnants of the theming for the Viper.

They demolished the Viper area to build this Superman ride, a real shame when you consider that the Viper was just a simple one-loop boomerang coaster that had the most awesome little swamp queue area with shacks, water, and bayou-wreckage EVERYWHERE. It was the only decently themed attraction in the whole d*** park and they tore it up and built a hill on it.

Six Flags Darien Lake is my homepark, and their Batman Show is not too good. It is cheesey, though the fireball and wire rides are interresting things. The building it is in was once the building of an indoor roller coaster, but that was also a flop. Darien Lake needs better shows and better rides, but most of all shows. BTW, last year or the year before, a person playing Batman had to go to the hospital cause he got a firework to the head....makes ya think, huh! ;)

Well, Six Flags parks are the "McDonalds of theme parks", so what are ya gonna do?

Six Flags / Paramount Parks = McDonalds
Cedar Fair = TGI Fridays
Busch / Universal = Olive Garden
Disney = Really expensive, fancy steak resturant :D

 No kidding, I think the park was better before Six Flags took over. They need something. How about ship wreck falls? what a joke!

I saw the Batman Stunt Show at Six Flags America in DC and I thought acting was horrible and how they mouthed the vocals was pathetic.

Please do not call Six Flags a Theme Park, they are just Amusement Parks full of thrill rides. The theming (if any) is only skin deep. Take the New Flying Coaster at Elich Gardens, it has 0 theming and it also sucked!

American Adventure is the best combination of AA and Motion Picture ever created. I love watching the figures (especially Chief Joseph and Wil Rodgers).

Fantasmic is also awesome and I much prefer sitting where everyone gets a good seat. Go to the late show when they have them.

I went to Six flags over Georgia this past summer. They replaced the Batman stunt show with the Gotham City Circus. THE WORST! NO plot, some gymnastics, a unicycle, trampoline bouncing, and a girl sitting on a frame under a motorcycle on a wire. Should be avoided at all costs.

You guys have Shipwreck Falls too! The former Riverside park (six flags new england) used to have some sort of pirate dark ride years before. I never went on it ( I was very little and a scaredy cat) but now that I see what's in its place ( a one drop shoot the chute) I wish it was still around. dark rides are a dying breed these days.

Add me to the list who feels Fantasmic at Disneyland is far superior to Fantasmic at the Studios. The ampitheater at DS just puts you too far away from the show making it impersonal (even when your sitting up front). Their steamboat at the end of the show looks cardboard. And the worst part is that the DS version took out Peter Pan vs. Hook on board the moving S.S. Columbia Sailing Ship and replaced it with the Pocahontas battle on a stationary stage, probably because it was cheaper to build the stage rather than a working pirate ship.

What? the American Adventure is unappealing? It's much better than the show at the UK pavillion in World Showcase! Oh yeah that's right the UK doesn't have a show!;) I'll be the one millionth fan who seconds the idea that Fantasmic at WDW (I've never seen DL Fantasmic) sucks! Go ride all of MGM's rides while the fools wait in line for the biggest buch of drivel at WDW! I mean the Pocahontas scene :hurl: If Disney's goal was picking a scene from their least favorite movie, then congrats to them! :p

I would be the first to agree that the UK pavillion is one of the worst at Epcot and it should be caklled the Soufffff of Ingerlund pavillion anyway.
As for the American Adventure I can understand the problem with making something exciting about American history as they have so little to draw on.;)
