Also, its been said before that the speedway is a bit too close to Space Mountain for an e-ticket ride.... we have to take traffic flow into consideration.

Too bad Dinsey didn't when they put RnRC where they did.

Speedway is one of my childhood favs. I remember going back in 1983 and it being closed for rehab and I had been waiting 4 years to get back on it when we first visited in 1979. I was crushed.

It is the first thing that he wants to ride when we get to the park. To him and his brother (and probably millions of other children), they are really driving cars. It is exciting to them and makes them feel important.

On the subject of the thread, I really don't think there are and "BAD" rides at Disney. There are some that need improvement but I have enjoyed at least part of every ride and attraction that I have been on.

When my kid was smaller (he's now 10), he thought Indy was cool as well. Now, we ride it because it is there. I think after driving some really fast G-karts at other places, Indy just doesn't cut it anymore. Granted though, it's a good little kid experience.

My opinion of the land occupied by Indy actually extends to the entire immediate area. When I consider an area of MK that could be better utilized, the land occupied by Indy, 20kLUTS, and mad tea party appear to me like prime room ready for a major overhall.
This is a big parcell of land in MK that could really be used for several very special attractions.

You could even keep an Indy type ride and incorporate it into a better use of the land.

At any rate I'm probably dreaming, Indy lines are usually long and as long as there is a little kid friendly ride that is popular it will remain. And the tradition of the ride is strong as well.

I was at Epcot on 10/10. I think the attraction was closed. There was a cast member standing in front, plus I did not see anyone going inside. Also the park map only lists Honey I Shrunk The Audience for the Imagination building.:drevil:

Yeah... but... wasn't it like that even when the attraction was open? No one going in? :D

You are truly correct on that one. I thought the CM was trying to get people to go in, but nobody did, so I deduced that it was closed. Later on in the day I noticed the park map.

OK, if you've never actualy ridden it since the re-do, how can you know if it's bad? In my personal oppinion, it is my favorite ride in Epcot next to Test Track and Maelstrom. (WHich seemed much shorter last time, and the boats didn't seem to go as far over the waterfall, have they changed it??) Ellen's Energy Adventure is funny, educational, and it even has some new animatronics! ANd I like all of those rides that you posted as the worst, so I'd like to know how you came up with this list? ANd I want everybody to think about the new JIYI for a minute. As a ride in itself, it is fine. BUt when you think of what it replaced, it seems horrible. Just think about that 4 a minute.

Yea, you see I worded it wrong, I meant to say, I haven't been on it since it changed over, meaning when ellen first took over was the last time I went on it, which was whenever, 97 or something. I went on it once when ellen first opened. And it still stunk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was boring before and still is!!!

As for JIYI, there is nothing good about the newer version, it's just plain useless. The ride, the experience, everything has to go. I was puzzled when I got off it, I had to think about what I just experienced, cause it was terrible.

You couldn't possibly be referring to me????

I didn't do that list!

I love Living with The Land, Muppet Vision, Spaceship Earth, Hall of Presidents.

I just think Ellen's Energy Adventure is rather boring, I think they could do something better with the Universe of Energy.

And I have always loved the ToM Indy speedway, My brother and I have fond memories of bumping the hell out of each other, we always used to slam on our brakes so we could hit each other. All they should do with the speedway is put in FASTPASS!!!!

as long as they don't capitalize on characters again and make it into Tarzan's Treehouse or something, i'll be cool about any re-vamping....like, i dunno, make it have some interaction for park guests. but they should never take away the Swiss Family theme, since it's a Disney Classic!

Well,
I know it seems hard to understand, but people like the speedway. Think about it in DL. It was so popular they added a second speedway. And then about a year ago, they closed down both and re-vamped them into one long speedway. Of course, in DL they have "off roading" and "highway" portions of the ride. Wow!

Now as to least fav. rides or attraction, I would have to say The living seas comes to mind. I don't know, maybe it's cause I lived in Baltimore w/the national Aquarium, but when I did the college program in the Spring of 2000, i spent more time in JIYM then I did in the living seas. (that was only cause I had a roomate working in Imageworks!)

He doesn't scare me...he's just very, very, young...I gave him some advice on another thread...if he listens, I, for one, will give him another chance...if he doesn't, he's toast.
